Uhhh...that's incorrect. Currently the LA Sheriff's department does release illegal immigrants who are convicted only of specific crimes directly to ICE.

Bob Lindsey has my vote. Many seem to believe that he's not perfect and therefore they won't support him. His stances or multiple issues are far better than either Villanueva or McDonnell. I absolutely do not trust Villanueva after his so-called pro 2A statement. I've seen this kind of pro 2A statement before. It usually comes out of the mouths of gun grabbing Democrats. For those who still thinks that he's not a perfect candidate, just remember that the enemy of good is perfect.

In case you don't have Facebook
Bob Lindsey is endorsing CalGuns

I should point out that while LA county has ~1/3rd of CA's population, since about 1/2 of CA's population can readily get CCWs and about 1/2 can't -- and LA falls into the "can't" half -- LA county has ~2/3rds of all Californians who can't get a CCW.

Winning LA county by electing Bob Lindsey for sheriff would be a TREMENDOUS WIN for our side!

If anyone wants a Bob Lindsey signature line banner like mine:
(1) Select User CP from the 2nd blue bar across the top of every CGN webpage.
(2) Under "Your Control Panel" (left column), select "Editing Signature" under "Settings & Options".
(3) Delete your current sig line pic if you have one.
(4) Select "Upload Signature Picture" and put in the empty field: https://i.imgur.com/Uu7qJxL.gif
(5) Select "Save Signature"

and that should be it! If not, just try different options that may make sense.

FWIW I embedded mine with a hyperlink to his campaign's website: http://sheriffboblindsey.com/ To do that, put [U*L="http://sheriffboblindsey.com/"] in front of [SIGPIC] (but use a "R" in place of the "*") and after [/SIGPIC] put [/URL]

His stance is no stance, which means, no CCW. It is not mentioned anywhere on his detailed website. This is not a positive indication. Lindsey is openly committed to supporting gun rights, CCW in particular. There is no comparison in my opinion.

Also, even more relevant, Alex Villanueva's endorsements: East Area Progressive Democrats (EAPD) and Chicano Latino Caucus of California Democratic Party. There is absolutely no way those type of orgs would endorse anyone who is going to issue CCWs.

The question is, is Lindsey a viable candidate? I'm voting for him of course but I'm curious why he could be a viable candidate? Sheriff elections are usually totally non-competitive here.

What, if anything, has local media (TV, radio, print) said about the race?

Nothing. There is no campaign, leading me to thinnk this will be just as competitive as the typical sheriffs election here, meaning, no competition.

Edit: If CCW numbers from other "green" or "light green" counties apply here, there are a lot more motivated CCW people than I realized. Primary non-presidential elections have very low turnout, and that's what this is. Even a small group of highly motivated people are important in such low-turnout elections. If we can get the entire gun owner and conservative community to show up and vote, we could achieve results.

I didn't see this poll when active, but I would have voted "yes".

I usually avoid online polls, but never miss the real world voting polls.

On the question of, is there a chance, I looked at the election results from last time. McDonnell got 49% in the primary, and that was up against a splintered opposition, and the leading opponent was widely viewed as corrupt and was only hostile to the RKBA. In the general, Tanaka got crushed but that's because he was indicted (or about to be indicted) and had to drop out.

This election is different. The opposition isn't split, and Bob has tapped into a motivated and fairly large group of voters, namely RKBA activists.

Total votes cast in both primary and general were roughly one million votes. There may be as many as 100,000 forum members on Calguns + other forums in LA. That is enough to swing such an election. Also for comparison, Trump got 769,743 votes in Los Angeles. If Trump voters could be Lindsey voters, Lindsey will win crushingly.

Trying to put out some reasons why there is hope!

This morning I met a LASD, I asked, McDonnell or Lindsey, he replied, I've been around long enough, "Lindsey 100%"
He has my vote.

How could 11% of Calgunners possibly have voted NO in this poll? Unbelievable. Are we getting trolled by ANTIFA or something?

Is there any legitimate polling on this race? An Internet search brought up nothing.

I haven't seen any. I don't think so.

I am seeing a lot more campaign activity from Lindsey than I have seen in any other sheriffs campaign. Let's hope this works...

While most areas I've seen in the county so far have no signs for any of the candidates, those that do have signs that are almost universally for Lindsey. A few for Villanueva. I haven't seen any for McDonnell anywhere, yet.
