California is getting ready to have 10's of thousands of felons when they don't comply with the unconstitutional laws. Then, you will have millions of felons who don't comply as they try to spread these laws to other states. In the end, the criminals will win

But that's okay because Kalifornia can't run a prison system anyway! They'll have to let us go on diversion like the other inmates.

Nyuck! Ρyuck!

Yup. Sounds like it's turned into a pissing contest now.

This is not a pissing contest but a means to make it very difficult, expensive and a general hassle to buy guns and ammo. The more difficult they make it, the less law abiding people will be inclined to buy.

So much for due process.

No. But there will always be a dark cloud hanging over your head.

Going to the range? Going camping? No, most likely you (collective you used here) are not going to do those things anymore.

And God forbid CPS comes to your house, or a party guest goes 5150, or your neighbor stiffed MJ and the cops got the wrong house, etc, etc, etc. Then, the felon hammer will strike hard.

It's time to split this state in two. Liberals in the South and that includes San Francisco, down the coast and cuts across just south of Fresno. All the rest will be Northern California and only people with common sense can move here. Everything these politicians do is held in San Fran or L.A. so they can have it. We keep our water and crops. They can fend for themselves.

I don't see the point of the OP's post. California's gun laws are liberal compared to Massachusetts.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_laws_in_Massachusetts

I lived there for over 10 years. I couldn't even buy a handgun there without the local PD's approval. Not carry. I couldn't BUY one.

Try to remember that proposing a law does not make it a law. It has to get thru the legislature and the governor first. Push politically before it's voted on, certainly. Panic because a law is proposed? No, not me.

In Missouri you have to go through a background check as well as get the approval of the county before you ca just go buy a handgun. But I guess you don't understand, the legislature in California in now completely run by liberal Democrats and the Governor is a liberal Democrat. If these proposals pass across his desk he will sign them. NO ONE is looking to solve the real problems, GANGS and black market guns are the real problem here in California. They can impose all the laws they want to on the law abiding citizen but it will do nothing to stop the real problem. Criminals will not care about these laws.

They don't fix the gang problem and the drug problem because they don't know how. No one knows how. It's a world wide problem, and the national "War on Drugs" back when, only made it worse.

We need to understand that a lot of this stuff is political posturing by guys who don't know how to make real progress, so just do sound bites to get air time.

Laws still have to pass the legislature. Have you called your Assemblyman this week? No? Hmmm.

I disagree.
He has pretty much said nothing on this all along, that is probably
a good thing.
I don't think he wants more problems in Cali like say..
armed civil insurrection or dealing with enforcing a jillion
new unenforceable gun laws that most will never obey.

Sorry to say but the article I read
http://blogs.sacbee.com/capitolalert...trol-push.html
just about covers every gun, rifle and pistol.
If I read it right, any rifle with a detachable magazine. Have you looked at most of your bolt action hunting rifles? 10/22 included?

Quote, "save many lives by curbing the proliferation of rapid-fire weapons." that to me reads, any semi automatic firing gun, rifle, pistol, tank, hand gernade, cannon, whatever, if it can rapid fire, they want them outlawed.

Between those two, that is 99% of ANY firearm by definition. And remember, they will pull any trick and play on words to make that one stick.

Also, look at any advertisements that have wording like, "quick follow up, easy to reaquire target, etc, etc..."

In this world, we have to be very careful what we say and who we say it to. You can bet that Homeland security will get involved if they haven't been already, it is only a matter of time. Remain defensive but not confrontational. Stay pro-active but also do not be the nail sticking up. Play their game and use THIER words to make them look like idiots. It's pretty easy but we are all bent out of shape and pissed off about the attempt on our rights. Relax, and do the right thing, don't drop to their level.

Gotta love your state when they let Felons out of prisons early, reduce 60+ crimes that were previously a felony to a misdemeanor thus keeping even more felons on the street. Sacramento Sheriff said on KVIE this past summer that crime has gone up 6-10% directly due to this policy. You can imagine how it has affected LA, Bay Area, San Diego.

NOW they want to take our guns...

Consider the average response to for Priority One 911 calls.
Quote:
From American Thinker:
The FBI Stats, please:

2,600,000 home invasions 2011
Equals a home invasion every 12 seconds
3.5 million burglaries per year reported
Each year 13% of homes are burglarized
19.2% of rental properties are burglarized per year
85% of all break-ins are through the door
67% of all burglaries involved forcible entry
38% of all assaults occur during a home invasion
60% of all rapes occur during a home invasion
70% of burglaries involve residential properties
Burglaries happen between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Home Invasions happen between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.
FBI stats show only 12% - 13% of burglars are ever apprehended. [1]

Hold on to your shorts. From the United States Bureau of Justices Statistics

Titled "Percent distribution of incidents where police came to the victim, by police response time and type of crime":

Crimes of Violence:

Within 5 minutes 31.0%
Within 6 - 10 minutes 24.5%
Within 11 minutes - 1 hour 32.4%
Within 1 day - 6.5%
Longer than 1 day - 1.9%
Time of response not known - 3.6%
Not ascertained - 0.2% [2]

From American Police Beat website: the average of seven same-sized city police response to a High-Priority 911 call is a staggering 11 minutes, 11 seconds. [3]

Before I go further, note neither our national media nor our national crime fighter data takes into account if you are - (1) middle of a heavily populated metropolitan area, (2) in the perimeter urban areas, (3) in suburban areas or (4) you're out there in rural areas.

Makes a difference. Makes a big blankety blank difference.

Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke says calling 911 is a bad option and urged Milwaukee residents to arm themselves and take certified firearms classes.

Quote:
"Personal safety is no longer a spectator sport. I need you in the game."

His political radio spot goes on "With officers laid off and furloughed, simply calling 911 and waiting is no longer your best option," Clarke intones.

"You could beg for mercy from a violent criminal, hide under the bed, or you can fight back."

Clarke said to citizens "so you can defend yourself until we get there."

"You have a duty to protect yourself and your family. We're partners now. Can I count on you?"
