Default Looks pretty cool

I have zero experience with these though. I have looked at them in the past but at that price it's worth a shot.

I'll chime in when I get it and let you know my experience. I don't have high expectations of it at $42, but based off the amazon reviews and videos, it looks pretty damn good for the price of $42 shipped

It's 99 and up regularly so it should be better than most 50.00 drones in guessing and it sold out quick

Thanks OP, I bought one before they sold out.

I bought one of these brand new from a co-worker for $23 a few weeks ago to get the hang of flying a drone. BTW, it survived numerous crash landings and still works!

https://www.amazon.com/DoDoeleph-Exp...syma+x5a&psc=1

I figure the drone in the OP is the logical next step for me for a low price.

Does anyone know if the drone in the OP is heavy enough to have to register with FAA?

Seeing as how it is like 5" long and 1" thick or so and weighs under 13 ounces I am sure, I would NOT fly it at the beach as you're only asking for it to be "gone with the wind"...

Got one ordered, along with spare battery and propellers.
I have a tiny hex-drone, fits in the palm of my hand. No gyro (other than the propellers) so I sent a long time just learning to hover it. The A/C kicking on caused enough turbulence to make it challenging.
This one will be a step up.

So it works! Works pretty good. The camera quality was tested but late in the evening and it is dark out so it wasn't great. I'll test over the weekend during the day.

One thing to note:

I live in Chino and it is windy right now. Not that windy, just a little, and I lost control. It started to drift away! I had to run after it. Thing weighs like 4 ounces or less. It is stupid light, so you guys may not be able to fully enjoy it until this breeze passes over. It has been pretty windy down here in Socal IE area all week.

Thanks for the review. Looking forward to playing with mine tomorrow, even if I have to fly it indoors.

It should fly out doors as long as it's not windy

Wife took pic of upside down box next to Ramen noodle pack for scale.

Mine got delivered next day. I haven't charged and flown it yet. I'm beat from a long day at work.

Got mine and flew it today. First impression was what a piece of crap. 2 mph breeze and like others said drifted away. I got lucky and didn't lose it. I watched some YouTube vids and discovered it has four speeds. Theres a button in front of the left joy stick that says speeds on it. Didnt see anything in the directions about it. It beeps according to what level you have it at. one beep up to four beeps for level four. In the higher levels it is much more responsive and can actually be flown. I'm still not impressed and will probably return it. My Furibee F36 flies way better and cost 12 bucks.

Totally hear you on that. But the thing weighs like 4 ounces so it was expected. The slightest breeze will cause it to drift away. Especially at higher elevations where it is a lot more windy than ground level.

This made me laugh I wonder how many of us are going to be chasing around our new drones in this wind

I'm not buying anymore drones. I was having a bad day a few weeks ago and finally decided to pull the drone out I got months before, poured a glass of jameson gold and started flying. I spent about 5 minutes and had it down pretty good so I decided to go out about 50 ft and take a picture of the Boise River. The thing started going the wrong way so I hit the return home/land button. The thing took off and refused to land. Haven't seen it since. No fun! Ha-ha. My suggestion is buy this or something cheap to play with first. Don't forget to write your name, address phone number on it.

I got one of these for $42 or whatever it was. Seems great so far. I have just flown it around without the app or wi-fi so far to get the feel for it. Pretty easy and responsive with altitude hold, gyro, etc... really fun. Comes with two batteries and a coupon to get a 3rd for free. Not bad. Will try the app and wifi this weekend.

Did you know that there are different speeds to make it more responsive? It is the button on the left top edge.

If anyone read the reviews, people are
Stating it to be a non outdoor drone. Meaning in little to ANY wind resistance will throw it far
