Prayers for all of you. He gave everything for all of us. Thanks to the brave for allowing us live free. We should let his children know that we know their father is one of Americas greatest Heros, I am sure they already know.

Such terrible news. I canít imagine what you and your family is going through. Both my sons are in Boy Scouts and they help our local VFW. They place flags on graves and they understand the sacrifice that is made. I will share your loss with them as a reminder that sacrifice still continues. May God bless your family during this difficult time.

Sorry for your loss.

Words cannot express the respect or the appreciation we have for brave souls like your son who are willing to risk it all to keep us safe.

OP, I am so sorry about the loss of your son. I cannot imagine losing one of my children in any fashion. I will pray that you and your family have the strength to endure this loss. You have my sincere condolences. Further words escape me.

I don't know if this will bring you any comfort, but here is the text of Abe Lincoln's letter to Mrs. Bixby re: the loss of her 5 sons during the civil war -

Quote:
Executive Mansion,
Washington, 21st November, 1864.
Dear Madam,

I have been shown in the files of the War Department a statement of the Adjutant General of Massachusetts that you are the mother of five sons who have died gloriously on the field of battle.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.

I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of Freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,
A. Lincoln.

I cannot find the words to convey my feelings. "condolences" and "sorry for your loss" fall flat. I lost a lot of friends during my tour in Iraq but it doesn't seem to in any way equal what you have lost. My prayers are with you and your family.

As a retired Army First Sergeant I am in tears reading this. No parent should have to bury their child. When I volunteered for Iraq I knew the risks, as did your son. He did it anyway. A true Hero and Patriot.

If there is anything I can do, please don't hesitate to contact me. Even if it seems trivial, I will do my best to make it right. I know the Army and they make mistakes. I will help in whatever way I can.

WHY IS THIS NOT AT THE TOP OF EVERY PAGE OF THIS FORUM? I HAD TO FIND OUT FROM OT? WHAT THE **** IS WRONG WITH YOU KES? YOU HAVE REALLY DISAPPOINTED ME TODAY.

John

So sorry brother. Your boys gone home and you'll have to wait a while
to see him again. I pray that some day your reunion with your hero son will come. And he will greet you with open arms. Great job raising such a man, who would lay down his life for his brothers. Sounds like his little boys will need plenty of time with grandpa. You will see your son again sir, make the best of your time here and wait until then. Thank you for raising a hero.

OP, I am grieving over the loss of your Son!
Our son served a tour as an MP, with apprehension we read these stories often. I can only pray for you and your family peace and comfort.
I am sorry the two grand sons now do not have their Dad. I hope you can fill that void.
