Default Sadness

Outliving our children may very well be the worst pain of all.

No parent expects or deserves that. I cannot even begin to comprehend what you are going through.

Navy vet here, yet I have no words that would console you during this time.

You, your family and son have our everlasting gratitude and respect.

Terrible news.

Prayers for your family. May God be with with you in this trying time.

It will never relieve the pain you and your family are feeling, but America is grateful for your family's sacrifice.

Anything one can say seems so inadequate. Losing a child should be something that no parent should have to endure. I am so very sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Like others have said, he died surrounded by the best people in the world-his brothers. May he Rest In Peace and may God give you and yours the strength to carry on. You will meet again.

It's easy to forget that these wars are still going on with the safety and peace we have here everyday. Thank you for your sacrifices to make America what it is and should be. He will not be forgotten. God bless.

Sir, My family and I are profoundly sorry for your loss. We are praying for you and your family. I only wish there were more words or actions to help take away the extreme pain you all are in right now. Try to get some rest, you must be exhausted going through this, trying to be the rock and missing your son.
John and Phyllis.

Rest easy Warrior. Fly with the Angels.
You will be reunited with your son in the next life sir. You raised a hero, a protector, a soldier who placed a higher purpose above himself. I pray the Lord eases your pain of losing a son in the flesh, but know he's there in spirit now... God bless you & yours sir. & God bless your son...

Words fail me, I am sorry for your loss and of course my prayers are with you. As MB3 said, you raised a hero and it's because of people like him that we get to live the life we do.

Prayers for you and your family and my deepest sympathy in your time of loss.

I have a daughter who is a medic in the Army and a son-in-law who is a Marine currently stationed in Japan. Not a day goes by that I don't worry about their safety and that of every other service member. We are in debt to all of them for their service and commitment to this Nation.

You raised him well. For that you should be proud.

I lost a friend to an IED in Afghanistan in 2012 and it hurts me to even think about him to this day. I can only imagine the pain you and your family must be feeling at this moment. For what it's worth, your son deserves a hero's remembrance.

Stay strong knowing he gave his life for a cause higher than himself.

My Sincerest Condolences.

Just to add some words that I'm not eloquent enough to come up with on my own:

I am praying for your son and your family. I saw the article in the Ventura County Star this morning. http://www.vcstar.com/story/news/loc...tan/834722001/

To paraphrase Patton, we should be thankful to God that such brave men lived.
Will Steven’s funeral be here in Simi Valley?

My most sincere condolences to you and your family. I cannot imagine...

If so inclined, the SoCal Patriot Guard Riders would be honored to be in attendance for your son's arrival back to SoCal and his services. I know the State Ride Captain is working with your liaison on the matter.

My deepest condolences and sincerest prayers for you and the rest of the family. SOC truly is the Tip of the Spear of our military and they bear an overwhelming amount of our losses. I spent a couple of deployments in the Eastern region of Afghanistan and it is probably the most dangerous area of the whole country.

That being said, I know that every Green Beret, Navy SEAL, and MARSOC Marine I had the honor to know and work with there did not want to be anywhere else. Their sense of duty to mission is unparalleled and as many have said before me, I hope you can find some solace in knowing that he was likely doing exactly want he wanted to be doing when he made that ultimate sacrifice. May he rest in peace and may you and yours reach a peaceful state with his passing as quickly as possible.
