Default Maine reciprocity

Browsing my CCW Map App, I noticed that Maine is now no longer reciprocating on non-resident permits. Yes, Maine is Con-Carry, but permitting removes restrictions for state and national parks and duty to inform. With family in the northern NE area, would be good to get this back.

Is this a recent change, or did I simply miss out on this info? I googled around and didn't see anything about a change.

To stay up to date I may contemplate getting their non-res permit. Anyone else have one?

Just get a Maine non-resident CCW. I have one and the process is easy and painless!

According to USCARRY Maine is a permitless carry state. Not sure if this is still correct though.

"The following states have permitless carry which allows anyone that can legally possess a firearm carry concealed: Alaska, Arizona, Kansas, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, Vermont, West Virginia. Some restrictions may apply. Check each state for its own restrictions."

For residents only. Non-residents still need a CCW.

@Baja, thanks. Crosschecking against a different app and it was the USCCA app that was depicting Maine as reciprocal. They have fixed the error, which I assume was because Maine is Con-Carry for all (http://www.maine.gov/dps/msp/license...s_permits.html) that they treated it as ok to carry on any permit.

In fixing their map they show that you can carry, but there is still no reciprocity for the extra locations you can carry with a non-res or reciprocal res permit.

It’s still the norm for residents or military stationed there. No permit needed to conceal carry or open carry for those folks.
