Very pretty gun and I also like the composition of the picture, like savasyn says it is "interesting" with the slope of the barrel and the dead space. Very nice!

I picked up this Ruger Super RedHawk about 24 years ago. The guy I bought it from tried to port it himself, you can see whaere this is going.....He put the barrel in a vice, took out his black and decker drill and put 8 holes in the end of the barrel! Yup, it looked as bad as you you imagine! The guy was so disgusted with what he had done he sold me the gun for $200! Brand new, never been fired just 8 uneven holes drill in the end of the barrel. I took it to a gunsmith, he cut the end off and recrowned it. I put a 2 X scope on it and have had a shooter ever since. I now have a Nikon 2.5-8 BDC EER scope on it. This thing will shoot sub 3 MOA all day form a rest and I am not a good pistol shooter.
Definitely a lesson to be learned here.

I completely agree! I'd like to get a set myself. I've looked on the Nils site and the closet I can find are the "Short symmetrical model with finger grooves" model. Perhaps if you order for a 686, you'll get ones that look like those pictured.

After looking again, perhaps they are the "Symmetrical with finger grooves and rounded backstrap (round butt)" model such as these.

^I love that R8, reminds me of something out of a William Gibson novel.

My new (to me) 1970 Colt Cobra in 32S&W. Just picked it up today from a PPT. Took it to the range and fired some S&B and Federal round nose and wadcutters. It was so much fun I was grinning like a child going to Disneyland . The dealer had a Detective Special in the case today, so I had to pick up my Cobra and go fast before yet another Colt followed me home.

I posted this in a thread I started recently about a visit to my Dad's. These are his guns, but I thought I might throw them into the Revolver Porn pool, also.

His two PPC guns. The top was done by Bob Chow and the bottom by Bill Davis.

Because my Dad has odd tastes (hey...where else are you going to see PPC pistols built with combat barrel lengths).

That's a 629 (no dash) that was cut down to snubby length by Bill Davis. This was years before S&W started making short-barrel .44 Magnums.

Full factory engraved Model 66. A gift from the Stockton P.D. for his years of service as a Reserve and the official department doctor. They re-created his badge on the right side of the gun.

Here's my current favorite. Smith & Wesson Model 620, 4" barrel. A mating of the L-frame with the half-lug barrel like on the old K-frame 19's and 66's. Also a 7-shooter to boot. Gun feels great in the hand and is a very straight shooter.

4" 66-2 (the underlug looks pitted, but it's just a lighting/camera effect. the stainless is high polished.)
