Default decent place to buy silver jewelry in los angeles?

So I ask my wife what she wants for Christmas?
She says; "Silver!"
I'm thinking; "Great! I'll pick up some more junk silver coins! That can add to our preps!"
She adds; "Silver jewelry!" (maybe knowing I was thinking about junk silver coins)
So I know nothing about jewelry. I read online make sure silver jewelry is marked "925" or "Sterling".
So anyone know of anyplace in L.A. that's relatively reasonable? I don't think I'd be comfortable buying jewelry online.

This big time. To get an even better deal take an Armenian buddy who speaks the lingo. That move saved me about $400 on a tennis bracelet for the Mrs.

If you are going to the Jewelry District, this is how you can know what the seller is roughly making on any particular piece.

The average markups for jewelry consist of the following amounts: $0-$300 x 3, $300-$800 x 2.75, $800-$1500 x 2.5, $1500-$3000 x 2.25, $3000-$5000 x 2, and $5000+ x 1.75.

By using the above formula in reverse you can come pretty close to what they paid for the piece and you can sort of figure out on anything that costs more than a couple hundred bucks they have all kinds of room to haggle. Nobody will turn down a five minute sale they make an easy $200 on. Using the above formula and an easy number, say $1,000 asking price. He paid $333 for the item, you know darn straight he'll sell it for $500 ish.
