Default ever a pellet or blank pistol that used pistol primers?

This is my first time posting in this section, so please excuse me if it's in the wrong place. I vaguely remember mid to late 80's Shot Gun News ads showing a type of reproduction pistol possibly a 1911 that used small pistol primers but no powder charge. I don't remember if it was a blank gun, or if it was some kind of pellet gun. I'm familiar with the HAIG toy revolver that used a cap to propel a pellet. They show up on Ebay once in a while. Anybody familiar with such a thing?

There are parlor pistols that use shotgun primers.

There was also some practice ammo that consisted of a plastic case (38 Special?) a plastic push-fit bullet, and used a primer as propellant. It was out back in the 80's, I think. Don't remember who manufactured it.

Speer. The case was pushed down on the primer to seat it. I had some & did some target shooting in a bedroom with them in the '70's. I hung carpeting for a backstop. The "bullet" could be used over & over.

Yep, red cases, black projectiles... I think I may still have one of the cases somewhere. I used to shoot them down the hallway (about 30')
Now I use these: Meister Xring bullet
