Default BLM land near Vacaville or backside of Fairfield??

I've heard that there is BLM land out in that area and was wondering if anybody knows where it is and can give specific details/directions??

There’s no blm land to hunt or shoot in the area. You’ll have to go to Cache Creek, Knoxville or Indian Valley Revs. All are not that far (I live in the area).

This is my non-forceful, non-opinionated, substantiated, helpful post.

here, closest place to hunt the Northern Bay Area

http://www.dfg.ca.gov/lands/wa/regio...and/index.html

you can hunt for rabbits with a shotgun with non-lead loads starting July 1st at Grizzly Island near Fairfield, CA. Shotgun ONLY (oh, you can use archery too...but who owns a bow and arrow out here?)

you should check out the DFG for more info.

however, don't shoot any Elk you see at Grizzly Island! Last time i was there i saw three of them, but of course i don't own a CA Elk Tag, people put in years (maybe even their whole life?) to get a coveted CA Elk tag...hah.

although you can hunt on Grizzly Island (near Fairfield) it is not considered BLM land

Thanks for the info Hornet. I've hunted Grizzly before, primarily for ducks. I too have seen a couple elk wandering around out there.
I've never been wabbit hunting', I just may have to give it a go!! I want to try and get my first pig now.

well you won't find one at grizz.

If you want a hog on BLM land get deep into the BLM behind cache creek.

There's a handful of wildlife areas nearby. I live near ya and can tell you that for the most part, you're wasting time if you don't drive 2-3 hours to get to your hunting grounds other than the few WA's around. Check out Fremont Weir Wildlife Area and White Slough WA. Watch for pot growers at white slough. I've called in on those a couple times. On the upside the county sheriff takes those calls seriously and they respond pretty quick. Oh, and bring a GPS if you go to fremont weir... I've gotten turned around in there and while it's smallish it's really easy to get hemmed up in a swampy morass and have a helluva time getting back to the car.
