copper jacketed ammo are fine, most ranges do not let lead (bare lead) ammo's in their range...
UMC should be GTG

Lately more and more indoor ranges are not letting lead bullets. The only reason I can think of is, lead going airborn in a confined space. I don't mind it at all, but I'm sure there are some reloaders that will disagree with me.

My guess would be that they are banning hard-cast lead bullets due to the smoke, not more lead exposure. Some powders burn the lubricant on cast bullets and make a lot of smoke. Ventilation and heating/cooling is an issue without recirculating the air.
Some ranges don't even allow steel or aluminum cased ammo because they're too lazy to pick out the non-reloadable stuff when they pick up their free brass. Last edited by bumpo628; 01-08-2011 at 3:56 PM.. |
