What else do I need to start reloading?
I've got the ABCs of reloading and the Lyman 49th edition reloading manuals. I'm ordering the lee classic turret set from kempf gun shop here with the upgrades.
https://kempfgunshop.com//index.php?...mart&Itemid=41 My question is what else do I need to start reloading besides components? Also any better deals than kempfgunshop? Also I have a $50 giftcard from Bass Pro Shop so if theres anything on there that I should order that would help greatly. Last edited by Markus; 01-05-2011 at 2:23 AM.. |

You might want to consider getting yourself some of these items;
Primer flip tray Tumbler (Need media and brass polish with that) Ammo Storage boxes And a good shop broom to pick up those spent primers that land on the floor. |

Seconded.
I got the Lee scale in the beginning because I wanted to keep costs down. However, I just bought the Dillon Eliminator and it is much easier to use. They are both accurate when level and zeroed, but the Lee scale is pain in the butt to use. The RCBS 505 is a similar design to the Dillon, so either one is good. |

I am new to reloading , I started with a single stage press , Now I have the lee 4 hole turret press and love it. My wife bought mine for me for Christmas this year from Midwayusa when it was on sale for $69 press only. the price on the link you sent looks a little steep. I would buy the press alone and then buy the other stuff seperate , try to buy some stuff used it will save you alot of money.
$117 for the same kit you sent a link to from midway http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct...tNumber=622290 The press i have now $75 http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct...tNumber=880135 Most have items Reloading manual Press ( if you buy the lee turret go ahead and buy at least one extra turret ( $8 ) this will make changing between calibers extra easy. Powder measurer , Avoid the lee perfect powder measurer if you use a turret press , get the lee auto disk with double disk kit. Riser for measurer if you mount it on the press reloading dies for your caliber a good set of calipers Good scale Tumbler and media , I like the vibratory tumblers. ( some media can be had at pet stores , Ground walnut etc) Brass , Projectiles , primers and powder for what you are reloading. Things people tend to forget when starting to reload Case lube for sizing Case trimmer (not needed if you are reloading new brass) Primer pocket swag and cleaning tool swag if its military crimped ammo. Not needed if using factory ammo but will come in handy as brass gets dirty. Bullet puller ( trust me you will mess up a few rounds and this is handy) If your reloading rifle rounds avoid the crimp thats built into the bullet seating die and buy a factory crimp die Chamfer and deburing tool I buy most of my stuff from Midwayusa or weidners reloading. Also look around on the board for used stuff it will save you alot of money. If you play your cards right you should be able to get everything above for barely over the price of the kit in the link above and you will not have rebuy stuff that you will outgrow in the kit above.

That kit comes to $114.94 shipped at Grafs:
http://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/...productId/8266 $4.95 shipping on most items ordered online, can't beat their selection either. |

The kit in your link is not the same as the one in the OP. The one from kempfgunshop.com has the dies and some sort of primer feeder. Either way, I'm sure that kit is higher than buying the pieces individually from midwayusa. I don't like the fact that they don't have a picture of what you will receive. |

Ive been looking at grafs and midwayusa as far as setting up these kits individually. Midwayusa would charge me an extra ten dollars with only one item in stock and grafs is more expensive by $5 with items also not in stock.
However now that I look around a bit more Natchez does have all the items in stock and even with $25 shipping its still $18 cheaper. Now to see what else I can add in there to get it to $225 Last edited by Markus; 01-05-2011 at 11:39 AM.. |

I use a RCBS pow'r puller- works as advertised.
You'll probably want the the Lee Auto Disk Riser if you are using the safety prime system on the classic turret. Otherwise the the pro auto disk will hit the the safety prime tray as the turret rotates. I believe it's $7 give or take. Hope you didn't order already.... |

I'd really like to know how you make out with your set-up. I could learn a lot from your mistakes! What caliber(s) are you planning to load? Do you mind if I PM you?

Some of you who are quoting prices are confusing the Lee Classic and the Lee Deluxe. They're different, and the Classic has better reviews on all the sites I checked. It also costs more.
