This thread is unreadable for me.
The pics are so HUGE that I had to shrink down the page to fit in a browser and the print is now too small to read. Fix the pics, please.

You should have made the stock like the Promag Archangel.
It's a stock, so just make the grip area of the stock more like a pistol grip. Would anyone say that this stock makes an M1A an assault weapon?

yes, that's actually a very common view of that stock.

The question becomes at what angle does a grip not allow "pistol style grasp"?

I originally sent this to Thordo via PM and he asked me to repost here. I recently took one of my rifles out equipped with this stock and here's a brief review:
I FINALLY got out and shot a few hundred rounds through it. We put about 400 rounds through with the stock installed. After about 100 rounds I realized I wanted a ambi-safety, because reaching the safety on the left side, required me sliding my master grip all the way around. The LGS had a Troy ambi-safety, and after about a 5 minute install, I was up and running. I think this setup (installed with an ambi-safety) will be a far more comfortable setup for right handed shooters. A couple guys commented it felt like they were shooting a shotgun (holding the firearm the same way). One thing that made me happy was the angle this stock mounts at, relieves almost all of the stress on my wrist as opposed to the other featureless options on the market right now. I still have to chicken wing a little bit to keep the stress off of my wrist but its not a full out chicken wing. We have access to a shoot house where I work and I ran through the house with no issues and I never felt like I was giving up too much of my body profile pie-ing around corners. Pretty impressive sir. I have another Carbine build in the works and I will probably be installing another one of your stocks on it as well, as soon as they are available. I run a 1-4x scope on my AR, and I think when the buffer tube pieces are available it will add just enough height so I don't have to raise up off of the buffer tube ever so slightly. |

I've seen these and they are awesome, the best featureless option in my opinion. I also know Thordo and know he would not put a product out without doing the absolute most homework and research one could do. Great product!

Hi Triad,
Thanks for your reviews and great concise feedback. We're working hard to get the buffer tube covers out to our pre-production stock buyers. We're on schedule for mid February. Thordo |

Nope. We have no product for the show. We were cleaned out of everything. Stock production is backlogged about 4 weeks. This weekend will be spent preparing for the FRS-15 Stock's debut at Shot Show in Las Vegas.

Got mine and mounted it to my almost complete build. My oldest son who does not want to have to deal with a bullet button and looked at the other options and wants one as well. I may have to get one for each of the boys (3) builds that I am doing.
Great product, great quality. |

I have had the stock for about a month now and finally got all the parts to put together my basic featureless carbine rifle this week. Thought the stock might feel strange and maybe cause some stress on my wrist. Shot 200 rounds with it today, very natural feeling no stress on my wrist. Very impressed with the whole setup can't wait for the cheek rest to get here.

Thordo's doing a great job here. I'll step up further and try to help.
1. CA DOJ BoF will NOT give a formal opinion on ANY gun thingy anymore from individuals or manufacturers or FFLs. They haven't been doing it for ages - they just say 'consult your attorney'. [Various CA DOJ BoF folks in the field may make useful or useless or FUD utterances that are pretty irrelevant.] The only people that can 'forcibly' extract formal DOJ analyses are sheriffs and legislators. 2. Thordo doesn't have to list which lawyer he used - but please trust us, it's a competent one. In fact he "double verified" with another lawyer. He did not get into this unprepared. This 2nd lawyer (with CGF support) would love to defend this, BTW - just like we had fun with the U15 stock in a past case. This isn't a regulatory pistol grip, it is a stock. And it is not a thumbhole stock. My first-blush initial conservatism and paranoia about certain aspects were overcome by a group of competent people. Please feel unhindered in using this as a 'compliance part' for a featureless build.

I ordered one and am very excited to get it. I wonder is there a letter or doc citing the laws so when we are shooting this and an LE asks us etc. we can cite the laws and show the weapon. |
