Default Dec 17Th URSA NorCal Match 2000+ Yards

Shooters we are holding our monthly match above UpperLake California on the 17Th.

We have an online fillable entry form and liability release forms for shooters and observers both now.

No fees no pit duty just show up and shoot.
The format will be 6AM you can start practicing and at 7AM SHARP we go hot!!!

3 practice shots then you immediately go hot no waiting on everyone else to shoot.
We will draw for positions out of a hat and anyone drawing two or more quarters will automatically shoot last.

Bring atleast 50-60 rounds of match quality ammo as we usually get in 2 matches.
It takes 3 hits to qualify and 4 hits to advance back to 2586 yards.
5 hits is an achievement point so keep shooting if you hit the mark early as it also qualifies you for the 3K match in SoCal.

You need around 22-23 mils of up from your 100 yard zero with a standard 338 Lapua.

Please watch this post just in case it rains as we don't want anyone traveling a long distance if we have to cancel.

It looks like it's gonna be another one of those days. The forecast is for sustained winds of 2 MPH and gusts up to 3 MPH just after noon.

Maybe someone will shoot a clean string on Sunday.

Cheers,

The new online forms worked much better as you can actually read them.

707FreedomFan showed up nice and early qualified got an achievement point and got two hits at 2586 yards with a rifle so new it still had the tag on the trigger guard. He did this using factory 375 Cheytac ammo with 50fps+ of extreme spread.
Nicely Done!!!

It started out windy and switchy and nobody got enough hits on the record target to move back from the 2054 Yard line.
As the day progressed the winds dropped down to a more manageable speed and the hit rates rose quickly so we held 3 matches.
In match 2 we had Focus and WhiteMamba both get enough hits to move back to 2586 yards.
On the 3rd match the wind kept dropping and we had Hoffer Focus WhiteMamba and 707FreedomFan all move back to 2586 yards.
By this time of the day the winds dropped down to almost Calm and Focus took home two wins at 2586 yards both of which he got 5 hits out of 10 shots.
Very nice shooting Focus!!!!!!!!
Hoffer won the final match shooting his 338 Lapua Ackley Improved.
Ken Eng was shooting his 50 DTC and the photo shows one of his hits at 2054 yards. Definitely not what you want to see when shooting unlimited range.

I have been working so much I didn't bring a rest any ammo or one of my guns to the match this time.
And I am working now but should be home by 9 PM.
It sucks to be poor.

Thanks Lynn. I appreciate you spending your day off putting on a great match. Lynn setup two hit indicators on the gong and they ran great all day.

707Freedom got it done on Sunday. No muss. No fuss. Just down and dirty shooting. Heck, I started to feel guilty about using a shooting mat.

Cheers,

Same here. I don't mind working a lot, and the drive is reasonable, but Sat/Sun are VERY difficult for me to take off. If we did them on Tuesdays...

I have a plan for all the overtime.
I was talking with Focus and the only custom action I want but don't have yet is a BAT EX in 2.5 inch diameter.
I think I will make it a Christmas present to myself.

Maybe on Wednesdays or Thursdays, and closer?

Pulling 14hr days for 6 years straight takes a toll!
