I'd agree with that map too. All of the uber-liberal areas are no/virtually no issue, while everywhere else in the state are will/shall issue counties.

Yeah when I was in class some guy was giving me some info and also the deputies told us there is insurance out there you can get if you had to shoot someone that it would provide the lawyer and bail and the help. Because you can shoot someone and be in the right but that won't stop the person or their family taking you to court.

I have the info at home of who they recommend got to sign up today.

Check out USCCA at https://www.usconcealedcarry.com

They have great coverage with no out of pocket unlike NRA Carry Guard.

I subscribe to USCCA and CCW Safe myself, but just remember these are NOT Insurance companies, they are membership companies and not regulated like insurance companies.

So how long should ones good cause statement be? Having a hard time keeping on one page. Can you say too much? Should I leave it as a quick 1 paragraph statement then talk in more detail about specific instances while at my sit down interview?

That's what I suggest, one paragraph should be plenty, just stick to the facts if they have any questions they will ask.

I agree, short and sweet, a paragraph should be fine. If they want details they'll ask.

Yeah I had read that before on other articles. I am guessing Beaumont would be somewhere close to riverside sheriff department prices. Redlands is also about $320 not sure how Murrieta got to that price but it's way high.

I can't understand why anyone would go through Murrieta with those prices.

That's a good question, I don't know. When your buddy gets there the deputies might be able to print him up something. Sorry, but I can't answer your question.

January 2017 AZ CCW came in the mail
February 2017 FL CCW came in the mail
March 2017 UT CCW came in the mail

03-11-2017 2 day CCW training/qualify with FTA @ Raahuage's
04-24-2017 application submittal appointment

Its just like everyone on this forum says, the deputies will go out of their way to help you. You need to have all your paperwork in order, have your good cause nailed down and have the fees and you will be successful!!!

Beaumont, now that they are issuing, costs about $791 and the wait is 3-4 months.

2+ years or 3 to 4 months? Really? You don't understand why anyone would pay?

Good post, and congrats. I got all the above with the exception of FL as well, it covers you pretty well out here in the west with the exception of OR which your training will take care of but as I understand it we just need to apply in person there.

So I moved my training class up to Wedenesday. He said to bring my firearm and 50 rounds.

From what I read it is 6 rounds at 15 feet, 6 rounds at 10 and 6 rounds at 7.
So to be ready ahead of time should I only load 6 rounds into my magazines?

Yea and if you have 3 mags it's better so you don't have to reload at the firing line but if you don't they will give you time to do so just let them know.

Bring 1 holster that all your guns will fit in, so you dont have kepp changing holsters. They frown on Serpas with the button release.
Bring body armor if you own any. They have loaners if you dont.

This is under the assumption you're doing your training at the Clark Training Center.

So I've got my training and quals at Ben Clarke this Saturday'. Any particular way they require storing of firearms? I was just gonna throw my 3 factory gun cases into my 5.11 rush bag and lock the zippers together. Should this suffice?

Picked up my permit yesterday. Took about a year and a half from initial phone call to pickup. Thank you everyone on this forum for the info provided. Officer Larry is who I worked with. Very easy to talk to and helpful. Emails worked good when needing to communicate. Once again thanks for help around here.
