So Listen up folks, I've put together a little flyer for this event that I was thinking we can send to friends and post in friendly places (gun stores, ranges, etc.) to garner interest and participation in SSZS/Calguns. What do you think?

The super secret part is the location, not the event itself.

If you don't want to promote it, you don't have to but I think we all need to step back and see the bigger picture here. Calguns.net is an open forum anyone can use and learn about gun ownership in California.

As long as I've been a member here, I've tried to donate my own personal time and energy by supporting, promoting, and educating people on California shooting activities, shooting sports, and laws and regulations on firearm ownership in California. I've worked at shooting events, gun shows, political events, etc. trying to educate and promote Calguns.

I see the SSZS event as a huge opportunity to garner support from California gun owners and promote and recruit new members on Calguns.net. That's why I created the flyer and had it point to the SSZS thread.

Lastly, addressing weirdos at the gun store, I retort with the statement that there are weirdos everywhere. If after extensive background checks for purchasing firearms in California (and the rest of the US, for that matter) you're still worried about who can own or purchase a gun, then maybe you should stay home. I don't say this to be negative or derogatory, but as to bring up the notion that we should be supporting each other as California Gun Owners rather than pointing fingers and degrading each other.

I feel like individuals that seek out Calguns will tend to have similar ideas about safe behavior at a public shooting event. I doubt that people who see a flier and show up will be as respectful as members here. That said I'm all for inviting friends and family

Sorry.

The Calguns and CGSSA names cannot be produced nor advertized prior to proper submital, evaluation and approval from the necessary entities.

The first one I made it out to was 6.0, there were a group of guys in their late 2ps that showed up and were firing across the range and shooting people's personal targets. I confronted them and they said they heard about the event on Reddit and that it said all the targets were community targets. Now, they may have been mistaken, or they may have been trying to cover up getting caught, but I agree with mooner760hd that, if they find the event because they sought out calguns, then they will be more respectful and appreciative of the event based on my personal experience.

I agree with the sentiment of getting good folks out there is a good idea and we should be welcoming to anyone who is respectful and wants to be a positive part of the community...but I very much agree with the idea that fliers in random places would wind up bringing undesirables and strange randos who don't understand, or want to be a positive part of, the community and experience.

In my defense, Ivan's walking stick walked from one part of the RV trailer to another. I truly believe it was trying to get away from him and was hiding. The fact I found it was truly a miracle. I mailed it back post haste and I've heard it's telling scary stories about Ivan to the other walking sticks in the family.

I ain't got time for no stinkin' bell.

Today I had the honor to attend an Air Force retirement ceremony of one of our beloved brothers.

It was a patriotic and touching event, rather emotional for many of the attendees.

I was approached by fellow brothers after the ceremony was officially over with a new concept for our family event.

Question and up for your consideration fellow members.

Does anyone knows a bagpipe player?

For Bagpipers might have to go to internet search and quotes unless we can entice one with free shooting and food.

Heads up!.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank one of our Calguns vendors and event supporters for the amazing generosity given to all our great law abiding family attending the event.

Respectfully.
