Default Need recommendation for Media Blast setup

What media cabinet setup preferably for around $150 that works well?

Ideally would like something large enough to do small parts and barreled receivers. Barrels likely 16-18". Some sort of stand would be preferred and small footprint as I won't be using this often.

I already have a compressor. Probably need to add a filter setup of some sort...

With a $150 budget, I would pay someone else to do the work and forget about even buying a cabinet.

Cabinets start getting useful in the $600 price range.
Those cabinets really need a 60-80 gallon 5+ hp compressor to be useful.

I have such a cabinet and a 5hp 220v 80 gallon compressor.
I can only blast for a few minutes before I go do something else while the compressor refills the tank.
I wish I had a 15hp compressor with about 120-160 gallon capacity to run my blast cabinet.

harbor freight had one but you need a air line dryer and a good air compressor 30 gal tank.

I spent $2400 for my cabinet and $1500 for my compressor. I don't have to stop and wait for the tank to refill. Makes using it really easy.

You get what you pay for.

You might consider getting one of the Harbor Freight hand blasters. It's okay for doing infrequent small parts. It's pretty cheap and doesn't require a large compressor. It's messy, so do it outdoors. It would be expensive to do a lot of parts, since the media is lost. For larger parts, just pay to have it done.

Here ya go. http://www.tooldesk.com/automotive/A...t-Cabinet.aspx Or something similar.

I have used both the Harbor freight cabinets and they work fine for hobby use. The stand alone cabinet leaked sand badly until I sealed every joint and seam and replaced the door seals. This unit looks better than the stand alone cabinet from HF. The top hinge door looks like it would be better, the side hinge doors leak on HF models.

Out of the HF models the 40 gallon is the better deal.

I looked at my compressor. It's a 15 Gallon DeWalt.

How long will this run a HF blaster for before needing to fill the tank again?
It runs air tools pretty well.

Probably get 30 seconds on the tank; maybe....then wait a couple of minutes for it to refill. I have the HF blaster, I replaced the gun with one from TIP that works a lot better and has smaller tips so it doesn't kill the compressor. I've been using a Sears 30 gallon, two stage, 2hp (yeah right) and it works. Have the Curtis 7.5 hp with a 80 gallon tank if needed. Or the Worthington 125CFM on a trailer for the big stuff.
