Default AKX9 rocks!

I was at a Steel match yesterday. One competitor was using the Atlantic Definitive Arms AKX9. I’d seen it when it was released. Hated the 8 or so inch long flash hider. But it works when in person! It looked awesome and worked even better.

I so want one. But I heard the run is over the og $1500, and prices are going up daily . Great gun!

I was able to snag one of the fixed stock models from Atlantic at the end of the production run. It’s a lot of fun to shoot, but a little odd to manipulate the mix of AK and AR type controls at first. Mine likes to eat 124gr NATO ammo the most, but shoots everything with ease. The only issues with malfunctions came with some underpowered Freedom 9mm.

Ah, you are right. Just watched MAC's review and tear down. Changed my mind. I will pass. Besides being a 9mm AK, there is nothing notable about it. I will stick with my CZ Scorpion. Heck, even my Hi-Point 995TS has started to grow on me.

My new rule of thumb is if it doesn't use glock mags, Not gonna get it! I'll wait till they have a version that works with Glock mags

Well century arms has the new NAK9 takes glock 9mm mags. I guess April they will be in stock again.... All the testing vids it ran flawless, and is much cheaper then the one the OP posted.

http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/comp....html?Itemid=0

But not CA legal due to it being a pistol configuration. But glock mag operated is out there now.

8i5E5E0UkUg

I had to look it up after you mentioned it

The more I play with my 9mm PCCs, the more I look into a gas-op one.
Maybe i'll add it to my ever-growing list of gun projects.

Too expensive....too heavy....no left hand charging handle...no drop in triggers.
Not as modular, nor does it have the aftermarket support of the AR platform, and it cannot be built a piece at a time as money allows like an AR.
So folks that don't have alot of money can't build one....no parts available.

And it's been already been around for 3-4 years....so it's been pretty well ignored.

Old thread....

The Draco NAK9 pistol is a great pistol and hoping to offer some of these as a rifle conversion in the future.

Too expensive? Strive to get a better job so you can pay for quality.

Too heavy? Hit the gym, the rifle is like 5/6 lbs, it points extremely well and transitions like a dream

No left hand charging handle? Practice ambidextrous shooting. It’s not difficult

No drop in triggers? ALG makes a few...

Not as modular/No aftermarket support? Dude... it’s an AK, second to the AR it has the most aftermarket support. I swapped handguards, grip, stock, on mine.

Built as money allows? See complaint one of yours. Life ain’t fair bro, that’s why you gotta bust *** to be better than the next guy. That way you can afford the Gucci ****.

Been pretty well ignored? Might be because it was a limited run and they sold out in the first week or so.

And for everyone complaining about it being blowback operated... Jesus, what a lame excuse. Aren’t 99.7% of pistols gas blowback? Gas operation typically adds bulk and weight over their blowback counterparts.

Come compete instead of armchair quarterbacking.

What a douche you are!

Hit the gym? Who are you to say that to someone else? Having a preference is his business.

I'm pretty ****ing swoll and strong and i too prefer a weapon to be lighter if option is there.

Yep, you figured me out.

I didn’t realize “Hit the gym” was a triggering Politically Incorrect phrase now. Did my unintentional micro-aggression somehow push him to run to a safe space? No, he manned up with a fun witted challenge. I accepted that challenge and hope to see him at the match I run.

Grow up swoll bro. It’s an old saying, if you think something is heavy/tough, change your perception of that through training.

Lol, these aren’t hunting guns. I’m sure I can carry it hundreds of feet around the range without weight being a issue.

Who's complaining? Every 9mm rifle I own is blowback. I was responding to the statement that it was gas operated.

Gimpsunlimited said he would pass after finding out it’s blowback. Pretty lame excuse to completely write off a weapon.

Uber also mentioned a pass along the same lines.
