List of Magazine Release Type Compliance Devices (and take down pins) - MAJOR UPDATE
*Major Update - 2/14/18*
As the final July 1st deadline rolls closer I wanted to update this list. Long overdue, indeed. So many clever compliance devices have been and will be released. Seems to make a lot of sense to have some sort of master list of them here. I've reorganized the list into basic categories. I would like to make a full blown table adding details on things like reversibility, requires permanent lower modification, available for AR-10, etc. In the mean time, please continue to add to the list. I am not including any magazine products (fixed magazines) nor things like ejection port reloaders or reloadable fixed magazines, so let's not list or discuss those here. This is also not a place for discussion of featureless. Company, Product Name, Price, Description, Product Link, Video Link Compliant Magazine Release Buttons:
Modified Magazine Release Button "Blocks":
Take Down Pin Mods (to speed cracking of action):
Reversible Lower Modifications that Block Magazine Release Button and Crack Action with Spring:
Modified Bolt Catch
Auto-Release Magazine Follower (seem to deserve it's own category). Follower for auto-magazine release does not achieve CA compliance alone, but rather achieves compliance by adding blocked magazine release button and fast acting rear pin.
For what it is worth my personal solution with be the kit with KingPin and AR MAGLOCK - Gen 2 Products from initial post that appear to no longer be available:

Thanks, but as per the thread title, I'm sticking to release button and associated take down pin type solutions as opposed to fixed magazine type solutions. Those products might deserve their own full thread.

Has any of these devices been approved as compliance to the new law?

I got an update from Battle Arms today. Not really much info other than an update on availability timing:

Will be interesting to see if they will offer a jig for their lower modification or just as a complete lower. I expect the latter, unfortunately.

The AW guide will be published shortly. I have been informed that the DFM and a few other devices will be approved.

Isn't post #5 correct? Such compliance devices are not approved.

Time will tell, but they have told the truth so far.

Thanks swamp2. I've started a list of featureless solutions. I cross posted to this thread for those that want featured solutions.

I think that is my personal favorite so far as well. However, seems most likely it will be a full lower only solution.

I like Cross Armory All the way. Self-operating once the action is open and no extra hand movements. We Sell them a little cheaper and they work great!!

BAD takedown pin & mag lock
Quote:
"The rear pin is a separate item from the mag locking device. They both will work with all Mil Spec receivers. The rear pin is an easy install, the locking device requires a small hole to be drilled by a gunsmith. Kind Regards, Sales Team - Retail Department Battle Arms Development Inc.." So, sounds like the best of both worlds solution would be BAD rear pin + ARMagLock or similar. Great news that these will be offered as standalone products that work with any Mil Spec receiver. |

Cross Armory Safe Mag and Quick Pins is the way to go for me, so much quicker and better than all other devices, only the price is a little steep for the set, but you don't need both Safe Mag and Quick Pins for compliance, all you need is Safe Mag for compliance, and the Quick Pins is just more for convenience. I just love how quick and easy to drop and reload mag with it, even better than fumbling with the bullet button
I got mine from Gun California for $188 for the whole set (Safe Mag + Quick Pins) with shipping included (insurance required but not included) http://www.guncalifornia.com/ca-comp...mag-combo.html |

I'm pretty sure with that mod 1 device you can use a tool to remove the bolt catch pin then remove the mag without separating the upper from the lower. Unless the device is not removable when the action assembled I don't see how it can comply with sb880.

I've been working on a product that fits this list, a quick disassembly part for fixed PMAGs to address doublefeed malfuctions:

Super idea for a post - +1 for a sticky!!!
Id like to see all compliance categories stickied and updated - getting hard to keep track of all of them individually.

Perhaps in the list, you could denote which items are actually available to buy right now, versus which ones are vaporware and may never come to fruition. We've all seen more than a few manufacturers pull the plug after recent threatening letters from a certain butthurt company.

Well since the OP hasn't revised this list in well over a month, I'm guessing the answer is not him
