Some members have private certs that are good for one day. There are also President TBD memberships that can be transferred as well. I only have a couple single-day private certs that are transferrable, but ask around.

Scheduling can be a problem. I always schedule my private training as soon as the calendar opens six months in advance so I have a better chance of getting the exact dates I want.

Good luck!

If you still need private certificates ask around, HINT.

wife and I just finished a private HG class with Range Officer Park, it went extremely well, learned a lot, he had us perform a lot of drills with our eyes closed shooting 5 shot groups . At 7 yards you would be surprised how many times I got hand size patterns in the thoracic cavity. Wife about 3-4 Out of 5

As for private classes, it's probably best to book at 6 months out. While there, we booked a private rifle in March, the month was already pretty full.

Wish I was a lot closer would be there once a month...Oh well!

There was a #10 tin can at the gate with a label Defense Fund - LOL!!!!!

Currently running through a 4 day rifle course. Did it in May and there have been some changes to the good. Ran the Wilson Wall. That was fun. Not hard but seen quite a few folks fail badly from unloaded guns to dropped mags and clear misses. Seen quite a few guns puke on the line from cheap guns, cheap slings, cheap optics, kel tecs that wouldnít run, desert tech 308 rifle that would choke. Tried and true works well. Funny how that was figured out long ago.

I don't mind post from a contrarian. We should all welcome criticism, and evaluate what critics have to say.

I bought a FS membership having read what the critics say, and I decided that the upside was worth more than the down sides.

You can both have a positive view of what and how Front Sight teaches, as well as be critical of what and how they teach. Both things can be true at the same time.

Couple of things they allowed standing from 100 and still qualify, helpful for those with bad backs, they used the Wilson wall to reinforce differing positions and a little more tactical thought to those positions and exposing ones self. Also after the class shot steel at 400. Well worth doing. Will be back next month for handgun. There is a new marksman class coming in January.

I did 4-day rifle at end of July. I'm young-ish and spry so I did the drop to prone. I assume the wilson wall is the little barricade you shoot around from different positions? Yeah, did that too. Only shot from 200 yards max at the steel, though

They also did a 15-minute or so exercise on how to clear around a corner, and room-clear/walk through the fatal funnel. Definitely looking forward to DG'ing and getting my mall ninja on

Default Took my first class...

... and Iím very satisfied. It was the 4 day Pistol Defense course held on Oct. 8th -12th. I learned a lot. Starts out super basic, but by day 4 you can get 2 shots on target in about 2 seconds. I fully recommend!

Did you hear anything more about that?

Edit: Found it on FS's website: https://www.frontsight.com/courses/r...training-4.asp

Quote:
In this course, you will be challenged by the drills involved to gain both a comprehensive understanding of the capabilities of your rifle and ammo and the corresponding marksmanship skills you need to place first-round center hits on targets at various distances without ballistics calculators or precision-level equipment.

NOTE: This course is suitable for any rifle and sighting system capable of achieving accurate hits up to 400 yards. If your rifle of choice is a manually operated rifle (such as a bolt, lever-action, or pump gun), this course is much better suited for you than our 2-Day Practical Rifle.

Noticed this too!

Anyone have any intel on this new course? Reading through the description I wonder if it's CMP Service Rifle match style shooting. Similar to full distance Appleseed.

It also looks like this course will become a prerequisite for Precision Rifle starting in January. I've been wanting to take PR for a while and am wondering if I should do it before 2019?

To shoot precision rifle one had to DG on practical rifle. This class as they explained was more of a basic marksmanship class with smaller caliber ie. .223 with a scope. . They will touch on the basics regarding dope and windage and reading mil dot/MOA scopes and will become a prerequisite for precision rifle.
