I was almost a vet, and would settle for two days a week, but I need to pick the menu.

This is 2nd thread, 1st in public view. Just seeing if my schedule is convenient for others, I'll let this run till end of the month and see what kind of results and comments I get.

I've often thought that when I finally retire and open my bar -

I'm going to give a standing offer of 10% off for concealed carry patrons.

I bet we never get robbed....

I love food. I don't live in the area but sometimes I am on leave not to far from Roseville.

It's a great gesture, and very much appreciated, but i have to vote no for several reasons.

1. Roseville is too far away for regular trips
2. I'm usually out the door and headed to a job site before that time
3. I'm not a big breakfast person, (i'm more of a pizza and burgers at 8am kinda guy)

But once again, it'd be a really appreciated gesture. especially for the older guys (you know the ones i'm talking about. the retirees who don't leave the house unless they're wearing their VFW jacket, Marine Corps League Hat and VA Hospital BCGs) who can sit and swap stories about the good ol' days.

Sadly, I'm too far away for it to be practical. However, if I did live in the area I would definately stop by for a free breakfast and a chance to visit with like minded individuals.

A lot of the retired guys on a fixed income could certainly use something like this. Big time. If they are having trouble making ends meet, they might really need a helping hand and free breakfast sounds like a winner to me.

The key to making it successful is getting the word out to the locals that qualify. Are there local VFW and similar organizations in your area? Are there other organizations?

^^^^^^ This ^^^^^^

I have a job and although the offer is truly appreciated, it is my opinion the older vets who have the limited incomes deserve it more than I do.
