Default NRA Life Membership 300!

Update from NRA Board member Timothy Knight:

Update 2: The link was from the 2012/2013 membership drive. But almost 500 people went to the link since it was shared far and wide. The NRA will be honoring these. But the NRA losses money on these, so they closed the old link.

good deal, I went lifetime for Christmas and it cost me $600. but I got a nice light weight jacket for that deal.
This is a great price because you help the cause and who needs another jacket or hat.

Thanks for offering this to calguns members robertmcm

This seems like an awfully crazy deal... I'd really like a life membership though...

No problem. I want to say someone on this site offered me the deal a few years back. Just returning the favor. As you can see, I basically copied and pasted my little spill from the Cmp forum, so the comments like " this thing has taken off here" and such as that do not apply here- yet.

One more thing, let's not turn this into a NRA bash thread, I think they are doing some decent stuff out west. If there is a problem someone has with the NRA, just move along. Thanks!

Almost too good to be true, but I have signed up over 150 this year. They stickied it at the CMP Forum. I realize I don't post here much, and have no feedback here to speak of, but I use the same username everywhere. CMP, Gunbroker, Gunboards ect.

If someone is wondering about it, pm one of the many who has signed up at the CMP, or read through the thread

We already have a thread about this in the Deals section. People have volunteered already as well to sponsor others.

Your timing is awful! I just re-upped a 5-year membership last night. Not eager to take another hit to the wallet today to the tune of $300.

Thank you. There is now one more NRA life member in So-Cal.

Although I also did a 5-year renewal about 6 months ago, I decided this was a good enough deal and the NRA needs the money.

Plus one more. I hope to also contribute at the higher levels in the future. The more I can contribute to the NRA the better. They need the membership numbers and the dollars. If even 10% of California's gun owners were NRA members it would make a huge difference.

I'm not in a financial situation to pursue this now instead of an annual membership. Will likely do this

Thank you to the OP for offering this.

I originally paid $300 for a life membership, then there was...
  • Life Membership
  • Endowment
  • Patron
  • Benefactor

Then, once you hit the highest super life membership (benefactor), you are invited to join other groups:
  • Presidents Council
  • Ring of Freedom
  • Golden Eagles
  • Second Amendment Task Force

As my deceased brother-in-law posted:

Except in his case it was my bank account... However, all for a good cause.

Ironically, after my last post I found an a NRA invitation to become a "Golden Eagle" in the mailbox. According to the letter I was nominated at a recent meeting of the Honors Committee, and I also received one of the most distinguished awards ever bestowed by the NRA - the NRA National Patriot's Medal. So, I got curious about this Honors Committee and found this picture of the nominating process:

I understand that there are hundreds of these employees manning their computers and the phones. This is one of my two big complaints about the NRA, fear mongering and the fluff stuff they use to try and get people to send more money. Really, I will send more money if I receive a simple mailer that describes the many good programs that the money would support. I have a hard time believing that anyone that gets this type of mailer actually thinks they are getting some sort of special honor.

No doubt it keeps going. However a life membership is worthwhile. If you join as a life member, just ask them to place you on their do not promote list. It stops all of the hassling for money, and in my case saves them money on postage. If I am gonna give it will be to their civil rights defense fund, and will be when I can not when they mail something out.

As a life member, you get additional insurance and voting rights. Not to mention that if you have over 10 years left in you that it works out that you come out ahead.

Wait... if I pay them $300, they'll stop calling and emailing? That's SOOOO worth it!

No you have to call them and get placed on the do not promote list. Something that takes up about the same amount of time as your two sarcastic posts to this thread.

Well I have a sure fire way, pm sent. This is done on the Internet with a credit card. Takes two minutes. Everyone PM me only after you have decided to spend the 300 dollars and have your credit card out.

Just pm me if you want to do it. Between here and the Cmp forum, and a few others I have helped over 200 sign up as life members. I have had one problem, and a call to the NRA got it fixed real quick. The problem was the individual did the wrong thing. This is less than 1/2 percent failure rate
