I was speaking of the RANCHO CUCAMONGA indoor range, Same owner, but slightly different rules.

In Riverside I have never had an issue shooting any AR at the range. Just keep your rounds brass and no steel/mil surp and you are good (unless the mil surp is brass, then it is okay most likely.)

I had NOT shot at Riverside in over 6 months prior to shooting at Rancho so I parroted the rules that were told to me from Rancho. I have shot at Riverside last Saturday and might be going back this saturday but I was not aware if the rules had changed or not. So yes, if there are no issues shooting .223 then great. I wish they allowed AK pistols... Oh well.

I think I am still good to go so far.

i have a question...
why are you going to the old magnum range instead of the new/modern riverside indoor shooting range???
the place is awesome and more spacious then magnum and has archery also...

no i do not work there...i just use it for all my test fires and for my preferred indoor range

I've had a membership with RMR off and on since 04, so it was my first choice when it came time to pick a place to go.

Maybe because it has culture.

It has been around for a long time and the owners are great folks right along with the staff that works there with them. Plus they got the cool tv and the little room and all. On top of that, it is just down the road from Alberto's if you get the munchies after shooting. I was there today and will be there next Saturday teaching my sister and niece how to shoot.

The new range is prolly too clean, it is like a brand new cookie sheet, if you wanna make the best cookies from it, you gotta season it a bit. Maybe in another year or two the other range might be chosen.

Also, if I am not mistaken, the other range has been used and does get used for events like this from time to time.

I for one am glad to hear it is at Magnum Range. I like them too. I do not know the other guys. I need to get my brass grabber changed over to the new handle.

FYI. They are not owned by the same people. The two owners are related, father and son I think. But they had a falling out years ago and supposedly a subsequent ugly legal battle. That's why they are similar in many ways but not the same.

Ahhhhhhh. I read family and followed down the same family, same owner path. Plus when I was there in Rancho I thought they said same owners, but maybe I misheard. the younger kid stated that he worked at Riverside one day a week.

I will stand corrected then.

I am looking at a 100% chance so far that I will be there.

For those attending, if you show up before 4:50 come to the classroom for a short meet n greet, q&a, pizza, and safety brief. If you show after the meeting still head to the classroom grab 2 slices and I'll be there shortly to get you signed in, briefed and in a lane. Pm me if you know your planning on showing after 5.

Thanks see you there!!!
Curtis

About that...

Are you certain of your info here?

Because, KRAZY coincidence... RISR popped up down the street because the guy, Tim or Tom who was a partner with Peter from RMR left AFTER an UGLY legal battle and started up the new range and apparently migrated all of the firearms as well as a way to give a bigger middle finger to Peter, who is the owner of RMR.

As a result of RISR opening, It seems that RMR has lowered their prices + allowed Shotguns and AR-15 (NOT .308!) platformed rifles to be shot. I think they need to be .223, but They prolly are okay with 9mm, .45, and maybe some others.

This was information I got after talking to someone at RMR.

Personally I never liked that a new firing range opened up just down the street from RMR and it struck a nerve to see that they had copied RMR. I have been a long time customer of RMR and they have typically been cool with me. As of the past few years they have always been cool with me and they are laid back and very accommodating. The italian in me tends to reward good behaviour with my loyalty so I support RMR over RISR.

The next time I am at RMR I will ask for clarification on the Rancho vs the Riverside store.
