Default Ammunition To Go--Good Shipping Rate?

I've heard nothing but good about the service and selection Ammunition To Go, and am considering buying a few cases of ammo from them. However, I have heard at least one comment about the shipping rate being high. All the reviews I have read have been in reference to small purchases of ammo (500 rds or less).

Does anyone have any experience with what their rates are like for bulk buys compared to the rest of the online distributors? I know Ammoman has free shipping, but he doesn't have quite the selection that I want (in stock).

Thanks much.

I've compared ammoman to ammunition2go on my purchases with ammunition2go and ammunition2go always worked out to be cheaper.
My last one was around 6 months back, but if I remember correctly I paid $26-$27 for shipping on 1,000 rds. of 5.56. that cost about $400, so it was around $427+/- total. When I checked ammoman he wanted $450 shipped for the same ammo.
You can go through the order process with ammunition to go up to the point where it calculates shipping to find your total cost, then compare that price with others before you buy to find out if it is indeed cheaper.

Go through the order process and you'll get actual shipping quotes. You don't have to buy, just stop before confirming the order.

I just received 500 rounds of 12 gauge 00 Buck and 250 rounds of 12 gauge slug from them. ~65 pounds in two packages. About 70 bucks for shipping to the Bay area.

Go to www.gun-deals.com . They give actual shipping rates from various online sources. They also let you know the breakdown on how much per round it costs and what type of manufacture of the ammo.

Thanks all! I've been searching for a one-stop-shop, and it looks like Ammunition To Go might fit the bill.

I've bookmarked Gun-Deals.com too. It seems mighty useful.

bought from them before, the shipping is usually a bit higher.
shop around, there should be a list of online ammo sellers.
if not try wideners reloading, a1ammo, miwall, wholesalehunter, natchez, aimsurplus those are just a few i can think of now.. theres alot more.

I was searching for a site which had a well-rounded selection I would only have to send in my driver license once.

Low and behold, as I've gone through the checkout, I haven't been prompted to send in my DL. They just want me to confirm that I'm old enough.

Follow up to gun-deals.com. I purchased 5.45 surplus ammo from Rguns, it should have been over 300 for a crate, but they only charged me 270. I'm not sure if they made a mistake in charging me, or gun-deals doesn't have up to date shipping rates. Now if I could just pull the trigger and buy a HDI polish tantel or get in on the Cope's pre sale.....Peace
