Default California Crime Rankings- Violent: #16, Property: #28

We found this interesting. Ranked against other states (technically a total of 52 according to the FBI):

California Crime Types per 100,000 inhabitants:
Violent: 445.3 (ranked 16th highest)
Property: 2553 (ranked 28th highest)

Ref latest FBI tables:
https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s...tables/table-3

Per comments, CA County Deep-Dive
Violent Crime per 100k, Rank1-3
Plumas: 621 (Rank:1)
Alpine: 527 (Rank:2)
Trinity: 481 (Rank:3)

Property Crime per 100k, Rank1-3
Alpine: 2988 (Rank:1)
Trinity: 1733 (Rank:2)
Plumas: 1732 (Rank:3)

Top 3 Metropolitan Violent Crime per 100k
Shasta: 291 (Rank:11)
Yuba: 288 (Rank:12)
Madera: 285 (Rank:13)

Top 3 Metropolitan Property Crime per 100k
Yuba: 1488 (Rank:4)
Kern: 1220 (Rank:7)
El Dorado: 1154 (Rank:10)

"Metropolitan" as defined by FBI is not without its blaring drawbacks. Violent+Property Crime per Sqmi, Ranks1-5:
Sacramento: 13.41 (Rank:1)
San Mateo: 7.01 (Rank:2)
Los Angeles: 5.82 (Rank:3)
Santa Cruz: 5.25 (Rank:4)
Alameda: 3.77 (Rank:5)

keep in mind that crime reporting is very low in California. Many just don't bother.

100% agree. Violence up here in the Jefferson counties is negligible.

Similar to quantifying how many robberies the ADT or "Come and take them" signs can deter crimes, we know they are effective-- we just don't know how many. It is impossible to measure what is not tallied.
