Official statement here: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=795292

Quote:
Calguns Shooting Sports Association endorses Andy Vidak for State Senate in California's 16th District Special Election Tuesday, July 23rd.

Andy Vidak will support and defend the rights of law-abiding Californians to keep and bear arms. As a NRA member and avid sportsman Vidak rejects the recent assault on law-abiding California gun owners and knows the proposed laws will do nothing to make our streets safer and may even place innocent people in danger. When asked specifically about anti-gun bills SB 374 and AB 48 Vidak firmly states "I'm absolutely opposed to both of these bills." Further proof of his Second Amendment support is the AQ rating he has received from the NRA.

CGSSA members from all walks of life join together to support our Second Amendment rights and shooting sports heritage. With the recent onslaught of legislative attacks on our freedoms we know that Andy is a step in the right direction. We strongly urge all gun owners, hunters and sportsman in Senate district 16 to get out and vote for Andy Vidak for California Senate! This crucial special election has critical implications for all Californians; please share this message with your family, friends and colleagues in Senate District 16 - which includes all of Kings County and parts of Fresno, Kern, and Tulare Counties.

Visit vidakforsenate.com for more info on the candidate.

Calguns Shooting Sports Association (CGSSA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and expansion of the shooting sports and 2nd Amendment rights in California.
We are California firearms owners, collectors, hunters, enthusiasts, competitive and recreational shooters and others interested in safe and legal shooting sports and firearms related activities.

OOPS! I forgot to type that part but yes they are Vidak supporters!

I posted them because i don't see much in the way of 2A supporters on that list. No NRA or CRPA, CGSSA, GOA ect.

I am not saying don't vote for the guy! What is my interest? My interest is in any politician that can shape any 2A related law, policy or bill that will affect my rights in CA.

Your questioning of me in this thread is the same as politicians not taking calls from out of district concerned citizens regarding bills in the senate or assembly.

While we appreciate what is, in our mind, a very encouraging and positive response, CAL-FFL's opinion on the response should not be considered an endorsement of any candidate. Our approach is to allow the respective candidates' actions to stand on their own.

I like the letter, but there is a glaring comprehension failure in the 2nd paragraph: (bold emphasis is mine)

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.... The court did not address the legitimacy of licensing at all. All they said was that if DC granted Mr. Heller a license it would relieve his complaint. The decision didn't "impose registration or licensing requirements."

Then there's the perpetuation of the "only in the home" BS. Sigh.

I guess nobody's perfect, but dang, if you're going to publish a letter you are writing to the State Attorney General, you'd think you would strive to get the major details correct.

Her "Vidak didn't support the dreamers" statement in the tv ads is enough for me to not support her. This is the only thing Perez has against Vidak. The dream act is not the most important thing in my life, sadly alot of people will vote based solely on weather the candidate supported the dream act.

I will not vote for race baiters
I will not vote for a "community organizer"(how well is that working for us at the fed level?)

Will vote for the guy that has created hundreds of jobs in the private sector.
We also need adequate representation here in Fresno county in regards to agriculture. She seems to not be very well connected with the ag community and I mean the job providers, not the workers.

I received the little orange 'Election Alert' card in the mail Saturday from the National Rifle Association, Institute for Legislative Action.

The card says the Quote:
Quote:
NRA-PVF endorses Andy Vidak for State Senate.
Quote:
Quote:
On Tuesday, July 23, there is a special election in your state Senate District!
The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (www.NRAPVF.org) has endorsed Andy Vidak for the California Senate District 16.
It indicates he is AQ rated and NRA-PVF endorsed.

Quote:
Quote:
Voter turnout is expected to be low in this special election, so your vote is critical to ensuring state Senate District 16 is represented by an individual like Andy Vidak, who will work to uphold the Second Amendment and preserve California's hunting heritage. Be sure to spread the word to yor family, friends and fellow gun owners in Senate District 16 to vote Andy Vidak for state Senate on Tuesday, July 23 at the polls or on their vote-by-mail ballot!
National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action, www.NRAILA.org.
The above websites, this morning anyway, were not yet updated to reflect the endorsement.

The race baiting by the left is typical and to be expected but very annoying.

Cant wait to vote tomorrow.

For those who may not have the time to read the updated posts.

Vidak hunts bear, is a member of the NRA with an NRA A rating and the NRA has sent endorsement bulletins to NRA members to vote for Vidak. Vidak has also been endorsed by CGSSA after responding to inquiry specifically regarding some of the current legislation we're facing and in effect responded that California had to many gun laws a long time ago.

For those interested I believe this link will be tracking the election results. http://vote.sos.ca.gov/returns/state...e/district/16/

Still haven't seen any results or projections. Might be a good thing though. Last time we thought Vidak had it in the bag, only to be cheated by mail in votes. You know....

I'm very pleased at the comments appearing on facebook. Theres this stupid SEIU California add on my facebook that appears on it's own for leticia perez, most comments are bashing her, except the ones coming from first time voters or the ones in spanish

Interesting, looks like that includes her home court kern county while his home field of kings county hasn't been reported yet.

That's gotta be nerve racking.

What's remarkable (to me at least) is how close the race is with the districts make up (registered voters):

Dem 50.58%
Rep 31.49%

http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/spec...nformation.pdf

Based on that, you'd think Vidak should be getting drowned. I know it's not always black and white like that but it's still seems crazy.

Fresno County's gonna have the last say, if you go by population. The most voters are in that county. 132k (from Feb 2011). That's more than all three other counties combined.

eta:
Oooh, hot dammm, Kings County put the hurt on it.

@2142 (Kings county 10.5k Vidak, 3.4k Perez)

Leticia Perez 25,312 45.3%
Andy Vidak 30,553 54.7%
