Large and sincere thank you to all who made this possible.

A lot of you folks have clearly been working on this for weeks if not months.

Thanks to all. If was my first SSZS and I had a blast. I had to leave after lunch Saturday due to other obligations, but I about burned out anyway.

Thanks Lonewolf and the other organizers and the RSOs.

Thanks to those who organized meals and fed us.

Thanks to Exile and Thordsen.

Thanks to anyone I missed.

I am glad I was able to make an appearance at the event, despite how quick it was. Mosin Madness was smaller than usual but I will make up for it at the next one.
In the 90 minutes I was there, 4 people offered me food and drinks and 2 others cigars. If that isn't hospitality, I don't know what is.

Arrived home and grabbed a long HOT shower after 4 days of wind and dust.
Sat down to a grit free calm dinner.
Found the couch and promptly took a nap

Unloading truck and reorganizing warehouse inventory today.

A note of caution to those with the Calguns window flags I handed out at the SSZS event.
The flag pole does not like sustained speeds of 80+ mph, it will most likely snap before 100 mile mark.
I broke one going to SSZS and snapped another on the way home.

Back to work,

Vick

Wanted to say thanks to everyone! I'm a idiot for living so close yet never going before!

Saturdays lunch up on the line, the chili in the big cast iron three leg pot. Who cooked it? AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

Not sayin' other foods weren't good as well, just IMO, that chili took the blue ribbon! Then I discovered pouring it over the corn bread!!!! AWW geez! I'm fat enough already!

Anywho, again, thank you to one and all for your hospitality, and the drunkin' old dude comedy Saturday night, lol.

Soo looking forward to the next one now, I'm hooked!

I took mine off when I hit the main road and it started to flutter bigly.

BTW: Thanks for the pocket constitution. I already have one I carry with me, but I now have one to pass along.

Thanks to All for another Great event in the Desert.....

So nice to see all the Old friends and Make new ones . It's almost like a family reunion .... Well ,, maybe it is The 'Cal-Gun Family '
Good People , Good Food , Good Times

My Dad ( 82 )was Glad he came out early from Minnesota for snowbird season to be at the Event . He had a Great time / Everyone made him feel welcome

Sidenote:
As we were leaving we stopped by the NRA camping area and picked up a Full trash bag of sealed bread items that were not used
I took them to the local Valley Restart center here in Hemet
My Brother-in-law is one of the supervisors there
This place Is Not a Bum hang out , They help a Lot of family's get back on their feet. People that come there must show I D and get instant background check ......................
And it just happened that when we were there local member from a Veterans group was there and the Restart center gave him some of the Hot dog buns for a function that night

Cal Gun members come thru again ..
And yes ,, I did tell them where the items came from

Maybe we can start a tradition of giving the sealed left overs to these Groups

Lonewolf.

If we're talking about Lloyd, he was kind and let me use half that table on Saturday. When I left saturday night, it was there with his sandbag on it.

I'll buy him another table if no one comes forward. Lmk

It was a folding table we loaned to the potluck area, the table you were using is accounted for.

Finally caught up with things around the homestead and business. Amazing what 4 days away from home allows things to backup, stackup and reach near crisis levels.

This SSZS was a hoot, like I've told several, these have become more of a social event rather than a shooting exercise. It was great to get out and meet some of the screen names I see on the forum.

Eat Dirt, there is a package headed your way for you and your Dad. Thank you for allowing me to escape the wind and sleep on your extra bed. It was so nice to wake up slowly in clear air with coffee

Jason, my wife is thrilled with the pumpkins and tossed out the 3 puny ones she picked up. Your wife makes the best homemade tortilla's and (sister?) can make the flatest tortilla's I've ever seen

Justin, I'm working on that white polo project.
G-man you have the best pea soup, thank you.
nubrun the pulled pork was excellent, 12 hours smoking?
Bert, you guys put on one of the best feasts I've been to in years, thank you for inviting me to sit down and partake.
Also I forget name of folks next to you (Ron?), thank you guys for your hospitality also.
So many people's names I forgot, my memory is good, its just short.

The NRA guys put on a super party/get together/event etc.
mrlonewolf frying fish and BBQ ribs. The Mai-Tai's were a hit, a great mix. I remembered why I swore them off back in 1971 on Okinawa, did not have another until last Friday night, had two and that was enough.

The shooting instructor, (Cal?), PM me, I have some pics of you and family at the Birthday party you'll like.

Racinjason and his family make you feel at home and part of the family right off. Chili was delicious and conversation fun, looking forward to next event.

Afteraction and wife (Dani?), had a great conversation, hope to see you guys at next event.

There were a number of new folks to the Forum and 1st timers to the SSZS I met. Hope you all had a good time and will come out again.
I know I enjoyed stopping by the various fires on my nightly travels and a few stories.
Tough setting up tents in the wind like that, but it is the desert and un predictable. Last time I was there it was HOT and dusty with pretty much no wind.

Finally had the chance to chat a bit with Andrew Mendez, hope wife heals fast.
Bako I am going to have to make a run down to your shop for lunch or something to continue conversations

Didn't get to the line much, busy at the table and socializing.
Hope all had a good time and from my vantage point the youngsters all enjoyed the outing. Didn't see or hear of any problems other than the wind. Speaking of youngsters, next event I'll put together some youth shirts so the little ones won't have to wear our adult sized Zombie shirts like a dress.

Once again Mrlonewolf, thank you for all you do to put this together and maintain your sanity.

Now I need to find someone to detail my vehicle, I'm too old and creaky of bones to crawl around with vacuum, soap and windex.

By the way I've decided I am going to get an ATV for these SSZS's, walking is killer and going up hill to the line is a project.

Thanks again to all, I had lotsa fun

Vick

@Mr. Vick- Thank you sir for your generosity and the cool Calguns flag. I fly it proud at work. You're an awesome representative of the Calguns community. And you're very welcome for the pumpkins and tortillas. Glad you enjoyed them. Hope to see you and everyone else at the spring time shoot. Til then take care everybody and also big thanks to Mr. Lonewolf and all other organizers of this spectacular event.

Fair warning.

I'll be hunting in New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and Kyrgyztan next year.

If you need help or need to hand some of the organization off to others, I'll pitch in and take a greater role. I'd like to see this keep going.

Please check your inventory and report back if you would.

I'm still waiting for feedback about this lost item.

Everyone check your gear - someone MUST have packed an extra table and just not realize it yet...

I brought 2 tables picnic table, and a folder, accounted for both, no extras I will contribute to replace missing table.

I will also pitch in extra effort for next year! Let me know what is needed...

I've been trying to get the green light since I went to my first and life just keeps getting in the way.

I haven't attended the Zombie shoot for 3yrs., so this was a trip I was really looking forward to. Last time it was with my 14yr. old grandson, this time it was with my son, his son, the now 17yr. old and two of his younger siblings. Great memories with my son and grandsons. Two of the younger ones were able to shoot ptoguy2002's .50cal BMG due to his generosity in providing the ammo and gun. Thanks to ptoguy2002's catch of my 10yr. old grandson, he didn't fall off the chair due to the rifle's recoil. I know my grandsons and son will all have some good time memories from this event and that makes me feel good.

Thank you Cannon-Arms for the ride back to my trailer, I really appreciated it. Vick, you are correct, that walk is a killer; especially with my upcoming knee replacement. Also thank you for generosity of the woman (unknown) who drove me back to the line in her ATV. I don't believe I would have made it on my own.

Vick, thank you once again for the great shirts. I bought one for each member of my family.

Thank you to the people who prepared the food and thank you Xavier for inviting us to partake over by the really big white trailer. On that note, my apologies to Dave, the owner of that trailer for allowing my hot chocolate to boil over in his microwave. I know you said you would take care of cleaning my mess, but I couldn't leave that for you so I cleaned it.

Xavier, thank you once again for organizing the premiere shooting event that Calguns holds in Ca. My family had a fantastic time, even with the wind. That said, I will take the wind anytime over the 115 temperature we endured at the very first SSZS in July. I don't know why we chose that date, but that heat is why all other SSZSs that followed were and are not held in the summer.

My future attendance will only be an all day Saturday one. My broken down body just can't handle the Fri-Sun RV camping anymore. It took 3 days for me to recover from the back and knee pain and the exhaustion and the latter was despite the fact my grandsons did all of the target posting and retrieving and my son did all the heavy work.

I would be remiss if I didn't offer my congratulations to fighterpilot562 for his fantastic weight loss! The only reason I guessed it was you correctly was the phrasing of your question and the fact I was told you had lost 200lbs. Otherwise I didn't recognize you. Continue with your efforts to arrive at your desired weight.
