P220 Elite Stainless .45

Shoots like a dream.

I didn't like the Elite wood grips, so it has some "thin" P220 grips with Hogue grip screws, and it's been cleaned and re-lubed with slide-glide.

how do you like those wood grips, when your hands are wet and sweaty? Compared to the factory grips. I hell sure like them but wonder about performance.

Not sure if you're asking me or the poster a couple posts above.
As for me, I've never shot it with wet/sweaty hands. It's been to the range, that's about it. No pistol classes, or tactical shooting courses, so basically I don't know how it would perform. The overall comfort is ok, however, I still think I like the hogue slim grips better.

completed my P226 today with the installation of the Elite rosewood grips that I got from ebay for a very reasonable price. Yesterday, dachan helped me install some trijicon night sights, and before that the streamlight tlr-1.

On to the next gun

Slide and barrel just came back from CCR and they look great. A previous owner had done a home Duracoat job on the stainless slide and it was pretty nasty. Also dropped in a set of Meprolights, green front yellow rear.

Just got my P226R Stainless in .40 S&W last week - I love it! I need more practice with the DAO but that's the fun part! Doing a few defensive pistol courses soon...

Now with wood!

I'm a little disappointed in the pieces of wood Nill used for my grips. The left and right grips are different shades and it's no where near as consistent as the grips posted above...certainly disappointing for $175. That being said, they fit great and feel even better in the hand.

They look good to me... maybe it's more pronounced in person though? Beautiful looking pistol by the way!

My very first handgun was a Sig 226 in the early 80's. I still have it and to this day, not once has it jammed on me with factory loads or reloads. Truly a reliable handgun.
