Default Anyone have a PPSH/PPS 41/43?

I've been looking into getting one of these. I'm thinking of getting the complete PPS-43C Pistol (with the welded stock)

http://www.classicfirearms.com/hand-guns/pol-pps-43c

Or maybe getting the PPSH-41 kit

http://militarygunsupply.com/index.p...roducts_id=480

Anybody have one of these? How are you liking them?

Any issues with getting a PPS-43C shipped to a CA dealer as a pistol? (other than the 35 round magazine)

Anybody?

This is what I found out in the last couple of days:

Norse Armory is out of business (shady dealings, but some people got these in CA)

I called Tracy Rifle and Pistol (recommended on a forum). They no longer sell these or bring them into CA because they cannot get bullet buttons for them

Called a couple of FFL's in my area (Orange County), most of the responses were that they cannot do it

OC Armory told me they can do it, but I have to find/make a bullet button for it, they are not aware of any that exist for this pistol

Anyone brought one into CA recently? Any suggestions/help?

Thanks in advance

River City Gun Exchange here in Sac has one on their wall for sale.

If I were you, I'd consider building one. You could build it as a carbine then and use the folding stock as well

I know there are some complete Radom PPS43s around that were sold as pistols and you can buy kits.
PPSH41s are much harder to find and building a kit would require a barrel and a receiver, not sure where you can get those.
Making these Cal legal may be a challenge aswell. Don't spend any money until you're sure you know all the answers. You could always move to a free state

If your interested in building a ppsh 41 kit. Its a lot of work buy not impossible. Barrels are available brand nee from gmrbarrel company, the hard part is the reciever and trunnion. you will definitely need mill for that front trunnion , but its basically just a big square piece of steel. You will also need to do a striker conversion to make it semi auto. If you wany more info, pm me

There are multiple companies making trunnions, barrels, 80% receivers, everything you need. Also, there are lots of build guides over at Weaponsguild.

Yeah..... between the bullet button and having to load a DRUM every time you want to shoot 10 rounds makes this more trouble than it's worth. Definately a "free state toy"

Yeah, I've been able to find the parts kit, barrel, 80% receiver and everything else that I'd need in stock from various companies.

I've never built anything though (going to an AK BP next month, that'll be my first build), this doesn't look to be that easy. I don't have any tools or experience, so I'd prefer to buy that pistol

If anyone is ever planning on building one of these and wants some company please let me know.

^^ what evil features does the rifle even have that would require a bullet button ? I know the pistol would need one

They make stick mags for the PPSH-41, as a matter of fact it's what the Russians primarily used, not the drums.

I'm building a PPS-43, but I'm in sac town.

Really, it's not that hard to build em if you have a drill press, some files, a welder and some patience, and it's really easy if you have a mill and especially a lathe.

Back when they had the calguns group buy for the Allied Armament PPSH41, they did make some 10 round stock mags for the CA guns.

I know because I remember seeing one at my dealer's- the little mag looked oddly short, cute even.

The 41 doesn't have a pistol grip, so would you need a bullet button? Semiauto closed bolt and 10 round or restricted to 10 mag and good to go?

I had an Allied Armament PPsH-41. The trigger was pretty horrible. It also suffered from some occasional light primer strikes. Sold it with full disclosure. I noticed it made several rounds thru different hands with the price going up and the description of the issues getting smaller. Eventually it had no more "listed problems" - maybe someone worked them out. It was a heavy pig too. I agree with DRH the striker fire is not the best.

Is anyone that has built one willing to go through how they did it, where they sourced the parts etc? This looks like an interesting project.
