Default Crossbreed waiting and waiting.

Anyone order anything from crossbreed lately? I ordered a super tuck deluxe and a belt, and they pushed back the shipping times 4 weeks!!!

Looks like I won't have it for my 16hr class with LFI guns.

Have you taken a look at their seconds website? They periodically post the returns of holsters and belts. I just ordered a holster from there and got it within a week.

Never understood what took so long for new orders though!

I only found out about the "seconds" site after I placed the order, plus I'm a little weird about used stuff in general. I know there's nothing wrong with them. I guess I should have maybe got a white hat, galco, comp tac, or an old faithful.

Check out wcholsters on ebay. I got one awhile back, fast shipping and nice guy to deal with. He's got 100% feedback. They run about $50 shipped.

I bought a White Hat and ended up sending it back.

edit: Should have added that I have a CB Supertuck. It's a nice holster and I think it took about 3 - 4 weeks to get it. When you get down to it all they are is a piece of leather or horsehide and some kydex. Not alot of difference between brands imo.

If I was using one for CCW class I'd go with a Fobus paddle holster. A little easier to draw from and reholster.

I have both comp tac and crossbreed. Comp tac is usually shipped in a week or less. And u can get different kydex for other guns for about 35$. Just as comfortable with excellent customer service. I like the crossbreed but I don't think it's worth the wait.

Try Comp-Tac next time, I got mine in about 5 days; right on time with what they said.

In a pinch, I believe TDS Guns in Rocklin sell Galco IWB holsters and belts; I think they also carry another brand in store.

I had to wait for quite a while for my Galco Kingtuk but not quite 4 weeks.

Try Theis Holsters.
Less expensive than Crossbreed, same quality and faster ship times.

Everytime I ordered one, I got it within two weeks.

I'll have to pitch harwell holsters: https://www.harwellholsters.com

I compared shipping times to the other holster makers, ended up buying from harwell due to desire to have the item.

6 days after payment I had my new IWB in my mailbox.

Plus they give you box art if you request it:

Crossbreed is a very small company, and the founder/owner recently died.

Given the way most small businesses are run, I would imagine that losing him had a huge impact on their day-to-day operations. Couple that with the shortages across the entire firearms industry and extended waits are inevitable.

I got a holster from them before Mark died and it was about 3 weeks from order to delivery.

Galco King Tuk off the shelf @ Branden's Wild Bill's in Elk Grove. Checked fit of holster to me and my gun in the store. Ten minute drive to store, waiting time was 30 seconds at the cash register. Break in began 2 minutes later in parking lot.

Price: $65 out the door.

Buying local has advantages.

I went with the old faithful kit after seeing the extended shipping date at cb. It shipped quick, and the kit allows a bit more customization than a pre-made one size fits all deal. Real happy with it, I recommend anyone in the market to give them a look.

I ordered mine on 2/9/13. I sent an email on the 3/6/13 to ask about the increase in shipping times and this is what they sent back.

Today we are processing and shipping orders from 1/16. Your order was placed on 2/9. Our turnaround time has changed. We were very close to 6 weeks on orders, but recently the turnaround for every holster in our queue has increased to right about 7 weeks until they are shipped. We apologize for the delay, and wanted to update the website to reflect the increase in turnaround.

I ordered mine the first of Feb and it arrived last week. Best holster I've tried so far. I'm a lefty so choices are a bit limited.

Check out http://www.keyholeholsters.com/
This guys holsters are top notch! I ordered mine and had it in less than 1 week. He is a new / smaller company so he doesn't have the largest collection of molds for his holsters, but he is always adding to his collection.

I ordered mine from White Hat Holsters for my XD40. Shipped pretty quick and so pleased with the fit and quality. They have a changable Kydex so ordered a one for my 1911, came in today. I did order a belt from CB and it took 4 weeks, did not want to wait 6 -8 weeks for holster.

I got one of mine from Crossbreed for Christmas last year, took about 3 weeks. Got my second from CrossbreedSeconds in about 2 weeks.

I just completed my 16 hour CCW training with LFI this weekend. Personally, I chose not to do my class with either IWB holster. I would strongly recommend using a paddle or other exposed holster for this course. Get the basics down, then advance.

Mine took 5 weeks and came in the Monday after my class, and I'm glad I didn't have it for the class now.

I have 2 crossbreed super tucks, one for G19 and one for S&W J frame. Defiantly not worth the wait! I ended up going OWB with Galco leather holsters and a good 1.75" belt. Way more comfortable and nobody notices at all including LEO'S!!!!! Maybe they will refund your $$ and you can go else wear???

My crossbreed took about 4 weeks and that was over a year ago.

All of the crossbreed style holsters you'll love. I have another identical style holster from a different company and it's just as good. Pretty simple design.

I got the black minituck from Crossbreed (horsehide I think) and the one thing I like about it is that the leather is soft and not as stiff as some of the others that I have seen and owned.

Worth the wait.

White Hat Holsters is the way to go. They offer interchangeable Kydex's I have one backing and multiple Kydex's. Takes a couple minutes to switch. Mine all came in a about 4 weeks. Ordered a belt from CB and it took about 8 weeks.

Well right now I'm at 8 1/2 weeks.

I emailed them on the 5th and they said they were working orders from 2/6/13

Their quality better be 110% otherwise I'll be moving onto White Hat or others that have been mentioned.

Quality is about the same, but just had two friends send their Crossbreeds back and replace with Whitehat. They loved the interchangeability of the Kydex and the belt clips I think are much more sturdier. Not bashing Crossbread at all, have one of their belts and it is top quality, just switch out multiple weapons and did not want to purchase multiple holsters - personal choice.

Received my 2 crossbreed holsters today. About 8-1/2 weeks from order to delivery. Seems like that is way too long but I wasn't in a hurry. So far, I like the fit and quality of the holsters. By nature, I always root for the underdog. I don't have a problem waiting as long as I know my money is going to an American company. If you need it now, maybe someone else would be a better choice. But for me, I'm happy to have my cash go to a small shop.

I also ordered a Super Tuck mid-February. Haven't heard a word from them yet. I'm trying to be patient, but a little proactive communication wouldn't hurt them.

I placed my order Feb 22nd. Still sitting idle. 2 months really is too long to wait. If I had know it was going to be that long, I'd have taken my business elsewhere.

Ordered 2/19, still waiting...but in their defense...this wait is nothing compared to when I ordered Versa Max 2's from Milt Sparks.
