Default Hank’s Brute double layer belt. Mine was a miss.

I ordered a Brute belt a few weeks ago. It was normally a $90 belt but I got it for $70 and change due to a 25% off coupon. It was out of stock when I ordered it and Hank’s called me right away to advise me of this and told me shipment may be delayed. Props to their CS for that.

Got the belt last week. The double stitching was messed up and the holes looked terrible.

Reached out to them and they responded even on the weekend. Again, props to their CS.

Got the replacement and a return label for belt 1 yesterday. Now these double layer belts are supposed to be finished on both sides unlike the Gunner series which is just one layer and rough inside. Here is Brute belt 2 ( the top one), juxtaposed with belt 1. The inside is damaged and the hole is messed up.

This is my Gunner belt. Note the quality. No scratches where my holster’s metal clips go on it.

At this point I asked for a refund. Waiting for them to respond.

In summary: CS is second to none. QC seems to be spotty. IME.

I have a Hanks and while it is an OK belt, the dye is not color fast and stains my clothes. No reason to have the inside dyed. It also took a nasty set from carrying the 1911.

I much prefer my Beltman belts. They are just made so much better, and no stains. I have at least six Beltmans now. Double stitched, embossed, exotics, I love them all.

Here is my most recent, embossed with internal stiffener. You can see they use a full grain liner on the inside of the belt.

Always with the nice pics!

This time I think I'm going with A Better Belt USA.

Pro Tip: Stop messing with anything that has a fit system that relies on holes...which never seem to be in quite the right place...or elongate over time.

All the cool kids are wearing Ares Gear Aegis or Aegis Enhanced...

Eh, I'm over synthetic webbing. 24 years in the military did that to me.

In my old, curmudgeony phase I like old school cool. Revolvers, leather belts etc. etc.

100 bucks for a nylon belt? That's insane.
