picked this up recently, it's kind of a strange one. In 1987 Colt planned to make a set made up of an AR15 and a 1911 finished in a camoflauge finish. The 1911 was called the "Camo Companion". The plan to sell it as a set never materialized. Some people say it's because the ban was set to take effect. Instead, Colt broke up the sets and sold off some of the AR15s and some of 1911s separately.

A total of 150 "Camo Companion" 1911s were made. The finish is something called "Z Coat" which I've learned is a teflon based finish. I don't think Colt uses this finish anymore.

I think it looks kind of neat. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet (shooter? collector?)

Collector, definitely. Don't shoot something that rare.

Very nice, I initially didn't like the bitone look but lately I want to build one with the polished 70 series slide I have.
