Of course!!!

However, the radios may be going back. I canít seem to understand a dang thing they say over the radio. Iím listening in on a local Calfire station. And one of them is a lot worse than the other static-wise.

Interesting. I have 2 of them and they work fine. Are you using the stock antenna or did you spring for one of the Nagoya antennas also? They do seem to be better than the one that comes on the radio.
https://www.amazon.com/BaoFeng-Anten.../dp/B076DZR8KP

I listen to Calfire and the local PD and sheriff pretty often on mine.
We're kind of out in the boonies so it's quite a little distance from us to the transmitting stations which is bad for reception, but we don't have a lot of interfering "devices" around us which is good.

No, just using the stock antennae, which are supposed to be better than than the ones that come on the other BF models.

Weíre in Martinez off Center and Elderwood, so we have some hills to contend with. Iím not sure where the transmitting tower is for that channel though. Maybe I need to get high.

Bought some neoprene gloves, 3M face masks, went to the range and recently got a new BOV. It's a Honda Pilot, not the most off road capable but it is AWD, gets good gas mileage, has good cargo capacity and is very reliable.

Scored 12 cases #10 cans raviolis, 12 (double) cases 8oz tomato juice, 12 cases normal size cans vegetable soup. donated 3/4 of it to local homeless veterans support group.
I had raviolis from before, they last me and wife like 5 meals and still some left over

I believe this is very problematic for the prepping community. To start off with I have fallen victim to this as well, and I am not being critical of any one individual (Tripper), only using this as a example.

Buying anything without having or developing a good working knowledge of it's use(s) actually is a step backwards.

I see people who buy so much prepping 'stuff', now stored new in the unopened box, who haven't learned what it does, how it works or even if it works. It becomes a liability instead of a asset.

Knowledge, skill sets, experience will save the day, not another 36 pack of iodine flavored chewing gum...

I try to spend each day reviewing information, learning new information and working with applicable equipment (including me- ie: physical fitness). I already cannot begin to carry 1-200th of what I have, so buying more is not helping, but ensuring I am as capable as possible seems prudent IMO.

I didnít buy it
A person I know, thought of me when it was being discarded and thought heíd grab it fir me. I still havent had a chance to ask if he knows what it was for. On that note, it is also why I posted it, to see if anyone here knows what itís for. And to determine if I have any desire of knowing how to use it and at that point whether to keep it or not
I absolutely agree that if you have something you should know how to use it. Where I do find exception to that is that I will absolutely keep things that I may not know much about myself but do know someone that is quite knowledgeable and does have that training. Some medical supplies for example.

So what I hear you saying is. You can do quick flyovers to drop air deliveries of various goods from free states to those of us still fighting for our rights

I figure SoCal is about due for a natural disaster and/or another round of riots, but as far as I know this doesn't really map out to the rest of CA as badly.

Purchased a natural gas kit for my duel fuel generator and convinced the elderly neighbors up the street to visit the LDS food store and start their emergency food/water supply. I have a few neighbors that are still active LE and Fire and none of them keep emergency food/water.

Mormons run a food store?

Yes, they use to call them canneries but now they are called Home Storage Centers.
https://providentliving.lds.org/bc/p...t.pdf?lang=eng

They have them in several locations and you do not need to be a member of the church to purchase items there.

I also noticed that the red cross has changed their stance a bit on the old "3 days supply of food and water" is what everyone should have on hand to:

Water: one gallon per person, per day (3-day supply for evacuation, 2-week supply for home)
Food: non-perishable, easy-to-prepare items (3-day supply for evacuation, 2-week supply for home).

Might be old news but it's the first time I noticed it...

Those LSD refried beans are great, but for the most part I love and stick to Mountain House stuff. If disaster hits and I have nothing else I may resort to eating some old WISE packs, but not if I can help it. Gimme #10 cans or packs of MH Beef Stroganoff, Chicken Rice, Breakfast Skillet, etc...

SPAM, canned ham, rice, canned ground beef, tuna, chicken, MRE Indian foods, dried hash browns, instant mashed potatoes, etc...

What the LDS Church offers to everyone (not just members of their church) is far more than just a food store; They offer guidance in getting/staying prepared, they are a great resource for what & how much, I have used their literature and arguments to convince others to work toward preparedness, they know all the "inside tricks" because most of them have been doing this as a way of life for many years, they offer recipes for how to actually use the stuff you buy there (or other places), and yes - they do have a food store. They are a wealth of resources for many things (from food storage to financial preparedness).

Well, if nothing else, I shouldn't freeze this winter.
Got 3 cords stacked and another 1/2 cord or so of dead trees up the hill that still needs processing.

I'm a BIG fan of Cree XM-L zoomable (China) lights in recent years.

I just purchased my first XM-L2 zoomable that takes 26650's too, but at 2x the price of the XM-L's zoomables. I am not sure it is worth double the price for being just ~20% brighter, but we shall see the results...
(If I get an XM-L LED in this when it arrives, instead of an XM-L2, I'm going to be pissed and will ask for 100% refund.)

Ordered a couple of Emergency Gas and Water Shutoff 4-in-1 Tools:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

One in the Raptor, one secured to my house gas valve. May come in handy some day, we'll see...

An adjustable wrench works just fine for gas & water shut off's, plus a lot of other things. I got mine at Harbor Freight for about $4 and got a free LED Flashlight with it!
