Hi all! Dave from Corona checking in.

I’ve been reading the forums for a long time and finally decided to jump in the deep end when I started seeing some users I know in real life in here.

I’m always happy to help with any events and am looking forward to meeting more like minded people in person.

Checking in from Corona. Long time lurker. I heard Steele peak/Christmas tree got shut down "for good". Say it isn't so.

Come on out and take the riflemans challenge. If you're interested let me know or sign up for a shoot http://appleseedinfo.org/find-an-event/. It's a game changer.

Yes, closed.

Confirmed by several different people in multiple threads across multiple forums on this site. Also on AR15.com.

I feel your pain. It sucks to lose a place so close to home where you could reach out past 300 yards.

Gotta head out to the desert if you want to stretch it out now! Or a local outdoor range where you are limited to 100 yards usually!

PM purer00r, he is the Riv. chapter leader and can provide the most recent info for you.

I assume you represent Wrens Ranch? I'd love to visit the facility, are you considering hosting a calguns shoot there?

The last one on record here was in August of 2016, which is sad. We used to have such good support out of Riverside area.

I too would be very interested if Wrens would like to host a monthly shoot. Close to home and OUTDOORS!!!!!!!!

Just to be clear they've closed Steele peak, been there several times but never heard it referred to as "Christmas tree" just wondering if they are the same or separate areas?

The monthly shoot was not helped by changing days and splitting to county chapters one IE chapter seem better,

I agree... but I guess the Berdoo crowd didn't want to drive 20 minutes to Riverside and vice-a-versa.

Nor was the monthly shoot helped by some chapter politics and the resulting change in leadership or by changing venues. RISR is a nice indoor range, and Wicks Brewery across the street was a great after shoot spot to meet and talk.

You mean Beaumont / Banning area???
Never heard of boumont!

Gotta hit BLM lands in the desert to shoot now outdoors for free!

Not BLM land as he asked, so probably a "not so legal" spot!

Matt

Hoping something materializes from Wrens Ranch 1's post asking about the "monthly shoot" a few posts back up the thread ^^^^.

Was at Costco recently and had a conversation with a gentleman who is a member at WR. He has nothing but good to say about the place.

Haven't had the time to plan a trip up to the desert and I'm jonesin' to go shootin'.
