I suspect that you want to avoid the Krylon Camo Brown. I've found that it makes a lot more contrast than I think you want.

This is what my stock looks like with a non-camo textured basecoat called "sandstone", Krylon Khaki camo, and Krylon Brown camo.

By the way, I think your rifle is already beautiful.

I think the approach of the OP in this thread is the way to go if you have the space to hang it from a tree and stand back with the spraycan: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=158837

You can also find some of my earlier attempts at desert digital in that old thread.

Good luck with your project! I can't wait to see the pics!

Finally got around to painting my Norinco. I said the hell with it and just gave it some OD stripes. I looks better in person, not so stripey, but my cheapo point and shoot camera makes it look that way.

Don't mind the purse....it's not mine!

I live in Georgia. The vertical grip law in California ranks right up there with your magazine capacity/rebuilt kit law. They really do not make much sense.

It is a VLTOR rail system that comes standard with the SOCOM II. You can hit two spring-loaded buttons and remove the bottom rail.

Hope that pic was not in Cali with the VFG or that makes it a AW...

Can anyone tell me the size of the allen bolt in the front sight of the M1A? I'm having the hardest time finding an allen wrench to loosen that thing!

I know this will upset the purists but here's my latest sage configuration.

I'm trying to decide on a color. I'm thinking a woodland brown with od or FDE streaks. IDK, i don't like the foliage as much as i thought i would.

Thanks. She'll always keep the classic look as she is my pride and joy. Aside from the barrel (Criterion Chromelined) and the SAI muzzle brake, and the stock from Freds, she was built using all NOS USGI parts, including the SAK oprod.

My other one (Norinco) is my dedicated knock around M14. The receiver machining on it is perfect but the finish on it was very thin, spotty, and very very light gray. That is one of the reasons why I painted it. If and when I do get tired of the paint, I'll send it out to have it reparked.

My M21 Tactical

She's a September 2001 baby from Springfield Armory...

I call her Mia, she's 46 inches long and weighs in at about 15lbs. Ain't she a beauty?

The scope is currently riding high for photos since its the scope from my bolt action rifle, her actual future scope is coming with much lower rings.
