Kimber CDP Pro Hideability
Just picked up a Kimber CDP Pro and would like to add it to my CCW, I have a Crossbreed IWB Hybrid and it's super comfy at the 4'o clock position. The problem is it prints.. I have a gut so AIWB is not an option.. having second thought of adding it on.
Currently have J-Frame, Shield, G32 and Sig P229. All rides in Stealth Gear IWBs. Funny thing is, when I compare the CDP Pro to the P229, it is just slight longer but much thinner.. which totally does not make sense why it print more than the others How do you guys carry your 1911 commanders??? |

Get off your butt and lose that gut homie...drop right now and give me twenty Khan~!!
Jesus man..... You could also use a sticky or a smaller thinner type holster. Get a hold of grant and get set up.

So pretty sure hiding a commander on you is not difficult. The key to remember is your not concealing the gun (if your carrying IWB) your concealing the grip). If you understand that it's reasonably easy to do, assuming there are no significant physical limitations. You should plan on carrying the gun at the 3:30 position, just behind the hip bone, in the small concave area of the buttocks, canted forward about 15-20 degrees so the grip is at the 3:00 position. Yes it will feel odd in the standard gun fighter stance, don't worry, you will shoot competition that way you will never draw for a fight in the position. If your interested I can have you run a couple of quick drills that will prove the point. Stay safe. |

OP your in OC if you want to meet and discuss adjusting your current rig or trying on a different rig for your gun, feel free to contact me, my store is in Lake Forest, Or bring you gun to the OC Gun Show at the end of January and try some different rigs on. There will be a number of different vendors, if you bring your gun you can try the different solutions. Dress in the manner that gives you the most trouble with printing and you can work on solutions.
