Long story short: original or reproduction stocks designed for Artillery and Navy Lugers on those 8" and 6" barreled Lugers respectively and those for C96 Mausers as well as other C&R pistols are deemed legal......for now.

Mine started life as an old synthetic stock M1A Scout. Slowly swapped things around and now have my stubby-barreled "M14" lookalike, fake selector switch and all.

How do you like that sling? Thinking of getting the same, but the 2 point version.

I like the 3 points alot. My only gripe with this particular setup, is that if you tighten the front strap too much, it has a tendency to slightly collapse the forend. I guess that is actually a gripe with the not-so-rigid synthetic M1A stock, and not the sling.
You probably wont have the same issue with the wood stock.

I use the three points as intended, and find them much more versatile and comfortable than the 2 points. Especially with the weight of the M1A.

Never really caught on to the single point thing either. I hate the idea of something as unforgiving as my rifle, banging off my junk and knee caps...
Even on an AR, I prefer the three point.

How my M1A was set up - was going to sell the whole thing but got my GI bill/financial aid straightened out so I can keep it, but I sold the RIS and am going to mount the Leupold on a Smith mount. The RIS would have been cool if I had a PEQ-2A to mount on it, but as it was it was an awkward mounting solution with the scope being bridged over the ejection port with multiple different points of contact as well as was heavy as all crap.

After you attach the image to a post (as you have), you can right-click the attachment link and select whichever flavor of "copy link address" that your browser has.
Then paste that URL between IMG tags, like so:

The trick to figuring out how to do things here is to pick a similar post and click the Quote button. That will let you see their tagging. After you figure out what you want to do, you can cancel the reply.

The Constitutional purpose of our military is not to be turned upon our own citizens on our own soil. That includes the NG Rangers/Weekend Warriors inadequately trained to deal with a campus protest much less a real civil uprising.
