jeez man, every time you post something new, someone has to bring up the price FIRST. they can't just appreciate the product.

it's like if i post a pic of a ferrari f-blah blah blah, everyone knows they can't or wouldn't spend that much on a car. but they can still look at it and appreciate the design.

i don't know what's wrong with people these days, but everyone is a damn hater... especially behind the keyboard.

It's only posting something new when you don't search for existing threads first . Heizer is a great keyword to search by.

Haha... bustin' your chops a bit. I think it's a sweet little gun. At least the idea of it is cool. It really doesn't seem that going Ti can be justified vs. Aluminum though, as the weight is basically identical but the cost almost doubles.

I saw this a while back and thought it would do well for deep concealment.
As far as the price and Ti vs aluminum, it seems reasonable and much stronger than aluminum. Isn't titanium much stronger than aluminum pound for pound?

I've been tracking this for a while, with a minimum to modest interest in buying one. But it all seem theoretical so far. Had anyone (reviewers, private owners, clubs) gotten hands on one or two for a few days and shot the heck out of 'em. And then written and Youtubed the story?

Heh, I like how they're taking a page from Apple and offering it in black and white (even showing the white one next to a white iPhone and iPad).

9m or .45, a 2+2, aluminum or titanium, starting at $499.

Hmmm, that is interesting...

You know, it says in the marketing material that it ejects the two empty shells when you push the button. Either the one in this video is a prototype and that's not working, or this isn't actually the case. It does flip the barrels up automatically, but the rounds are clearly not ejected:

This was posted many many many months ago, just FYI.

http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ghlight=heizer (and that's not even the first thread)

I think it's cool, but let's face it, price is always a factor!

Oddly enough, the aluminum one is lighter and cheaper if I remember correctly when I was looking into them.

They look as big or bigger than a Ruger LCP though.
The PF9 doesn't look that much bigger.

Lools like a cool gun. Donn't know how practical it is, but like stated above neither is a ferrari but that doesn't make a ferrari any less cool.

It would be cool if anyone in CA could actually get a LTC!

But since most of us can't, it's only a novelty.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 11, 2012
Unfortunately, with the deepest regret, today I announce that we have terminated our relationship with HEIZER DEFENSE, our manufacturing partner, due to their inability to manufacture the DoubleTap™ pistol. I cannot comment further on this subject at this time, under advice from legal counsel, due to pending litigation.

Cool gun, there are just to many other pocket pistols that are cheaper and hold a lot more rounds that I would buy first...

I think it needs a laser to help with the aiming..

Wow. That sucks. At least he does go on to say:

"It is our intention to immediately license the design to a leading firearms manufacturer or to align with another manufacturing source to produce the DoubleTap™. We intend to accomplish this as quickly as possible to satisfy the huge demand for the DoubleTap™ pistol. I will make a further announcement as soon as we have established a new manufacturing agreement."

...so look for the Taurus-manufactured DoubleTap soon

BTW to everyone saying it's similar in size to other pocket pistols. Yeah, except for the width. I mean, it has to be a certain size to fit in your palm and not fly out when you fire it and to put the muzzles past your fingers so you don't blow them off. The width of this thing, however, is the key and it's definitely the slimmest .45 or 9mm on the market.
