Default 5.45mm available anywhere in San Diego?

Hello all, anyone know if there's a place in San Diego that sells non-steel core 5.45 ammo at all? I may go shooting this weekend and don't have anything to feed my new rifle with yet and internet sales wouldn't reach me in time.

thanks in advance!

You could try DAS in Solana Beach, or maybe that new ammo shop up in Temecula. Maybe the ammo classified section if you haven't already.

But don't let anything stop you from ordering online !! By far the most economical route.

Yeah, I'll definitely be picking up most ammo online, but was trying to source some locally real quick.

Alright, I was looking for 5.45 about a month ago- called all around, and found 3 places in the whole county.

1) DAS in salona beach: $250 for 1080 rds 7n6. Several crates available.
2) Some place in La Mesa had some silver bear- came out to like 60c/rd. I forget the name, maybe it was Alex Imports or the..something & sons.
3) Some place in Oceanside (sorry I can't remember the names off the top of my head). Had some brown bears for the same price. Quantico, I think? Maybe?

Oh, and American Shooting Center in Kearny Mesa had ONE box of Hornady vmax-- it was 32ish for 50 rds. Might as well go with the Hornadies over the silver bears. Same price for lead bullets that you can shoot without worrying about the fire hazard.

Cool thanks for the info, do you know if ASC let you shoot the Hornady there since it's still steel cased? That's really expensive though... :/

Try the calguns member SC_SD! Super cool dude and I think he has plenty of what you're looking for! Met him yesterday to pick up some 556 and he has his 545 AR with about 600 rds IIRC. Tell him SDQUATTRO sent you! GL
