We won???? Far from it...
This will never see the light of day. The mainstream media will bury it as they always bury any agenda that goes against their leftist propaganda.

I agree, but i don't see having armed guards on schools as a bad thing from a PR point of view.

No, it's not dumb.
It shows a very clear shift in general thinking about the issue, and very clearly aligns the NRA is having the right idea/s - Newtown agrees with them / us. A.W.D.

I agree that guns aren't the problem, nut cases are the problem. However, most nut cases are cowards which is why the vast majority of these events happen in gun free zones and the second that these nuts are confronted by someone that is armed, they usually surrender or commit suicide. Based on this alone, it is "dumb" to not acknowledge that guns in the hands of the good guys are a solution in many cases.

Did you wonder why he targeted an elementry school ?
Well, now we all know. As per the media coverage just released the middle and high schools had armed officers in the schools. THIS IS BIG. The gun free zones are targets. This is not news to us but it needs to be yelled from the highest tree tops and anywhere else we can. I wondered about this from the beginning and now it comes out. What other information about this horrific event is being held back?

And fire extinguishers have nothing to do with causing fires. Yet when you HAVE a fire, nothing less will do.

Problem is people, in Newtown's case, homicidal, insane people. There is a non-zero amount of time which will elapse before we can get a handle on them. Might be quite a long time even if we commit to some serious research, and I have my doubts about our willingness to fund such research, especially for the amount of time that will be required to have a chance at useful results (if any are even possible). So until we "solve" that problem, the parents in Newtown are PTSD-ing all over this. How can they protect their kids today, given that research is at least decades (if not centuries) away from helping them? What will stop another illegally-armed psycho bent on mass murder? Only good guys with guns bent on preventing such acts. There's no scanner, no dogs, no policy, nothing else that can work TODAY, and that's the problem, as the people in Newtown see it. |

Obama disagrees, but then we are not allowed to call him on it because it's tasteless to point out hypocrisy of the dear leader.

Uh....................there's a big disconnect here. Guns don't HAVE to be the CAUSE of the problem for guns to be the SOLUTION to the problem.

"The Newtown Board of Education CAVED IN to the NRA!!!" - Um, no, they used common sense. "Nobody is thinking about the trauma that will be inflicted on sweet, innocent children when they see guards (gasp!!) with holstered assault death pistols with 500 round clip magazine thingies!" - Uh, I suppose seeing classmates and teachers slaughtered in cold blood is less traumatic, eh? "Where will the money come from? School districts can't afford to have armed guards!" - When the f**k has spending ever concerned the left? The money is there alright; it is being wasted on the bloated, overpaid school bureaucracy and so-called school support staff. Besides, I read a few days after the tragedy in Newtown that there were already armed guards or police in 23,000 of our nations schools.

All those people complaining about the TSA, now endorsing armed guards at schools, potentially moving to frisk your kids on the incredibly slight possibility that such an event should occur again.... oh man. Yes, it'll occur again, but I doubt the guard will be in the right spot at the right time or hmmm... have called in sick, like the guard at Columbine.
People complain about teachers being overpaid, zero resources at our schools for after school events (which could work wonders for a lot of kids who lack role models, like their own damned parents), only one nurse per district as opposed to one nurse per school, no janitors and teachers having to do janitorial work. Hey, but maybe the guard can also be the janitor to keep him/her busy during the endless hours of boredom and frisking kids... ha Now go ahead and call me "dumb" like you have insulted and referred to fellow Calgunners who are well aware this is a ridiculous and unsustainable solution.

I just checked Headline news feeders at:
Google, Bing, Yahoo, & couple others. I did not see any reference to Newton voting for Armed Guards. Plenty of biased stuff like this: CNN... "Americans, even NRA members, want gun reforms" http://www.cnn.com/2013/01/31/opinion/glaze-gun-control The Washington Post... "Law shielding gun makers poses obstacle for Newtown parents" http://www.sgvtribune.com/news/ci_22...wn-parents#top When I did a specific search, finally got a few local hits: "Newtown Education Board Wants Police Officers in All Elementary Schools" http://www.countytimes.com/articles/...0443529729.txt Any media coverage will be low key, UNTIL they can find enough "outraged" parents who oppose the Newton B.o.Education voting for armed guards. Then they can stir the pot of discord once again using the same biased techniques they have been using the last couple of months. Noble |

It should be remembered that one of Obama's EO's included encouraging schools to post a resource officer. Not sure if a guard is a peace officer but Newtown isn't the only one who agrees with the NRA when it comes to an immediate and practical solution.

The article indicated this would be a SRO (School Resource Officer), who would be an armed police officer, and an unarmed security guard type.
