Default Got bit by the 1911 Bug.

DROS’d myself a Springfield 1911 MC Operator. Came with a nifty range bag. Changing those awful Pachmyr grips first.

Paid $1179 before tax and DROS.

First of all...I am sorry for your major life problem. You just caught the one disease that is very incurable...1911ineedmore disease.

You will find that that nice shooter you just got will cause two issues...the need to shoot the crap outa that thing...and the need for another 1911...then another.

Shoot, lube, load, shoot, repeat...

Congrats OP...

Nice one. You got it at going price for new.

Some folks pay 2.5 to 3K for a colt rail gun, same as your Springfield without the life time warranty.

Good luck.

The '1911ineedmore disease' quickly becomes a lifelong affliction. Very few recover and there is no known treatment. Something happens to your cerebral cortex doctors say. John Moses Browning becomes your hero. Not a room in your home is complete without his image staring down at you. Despite all this you are not alone, there are many of us who share your addiction. Everything is wonderful. Life is great.

The "1911ineedmore" disease is rapidly followed by the "mustreloadtofeedthehabit". Symptoms may include irritability, restlessness in the right arm, a skittish eye around shiny brass, hours spent online searching for the best deals on powder, primers and bullets and finally a rapid sucking noise coming from your wallet and a dropping FICO score.

Seek Professional (from Springfield's Custom Shop) help immediately.

Nice choice! I was going to buy the same one but decided to layoff eating out for a few weeks and bought the TRP Operator full rail instead.

The only cure for that is a set of proper cocobolo double diamond grips.

Pachmyr grips on a 1911 are a classic design going way back. Most of my 1911s have them and the Pachmyr rubber mainspring housing. But I guess today the trend is tacticool, sexy, pretty, etc.

Show off...

Mine must've been defective from the factory since it hasn't multiplied yet!

That's one size I don't have -yet- in a 1911 flavor, all my 9mm stuff is CZ, Sig and a lonely Ruger 9mm LCR.

I love those Old School Pachmyer grips, on my Old School Colt Guv't. Just don't look right on a rail gun. But then again some say rails on a 1911 don't look right.
