Default AR15/22 Legality

Before I start I apologize as I am well aware this issue has been covered before by the experts here however I was unable to find a current thread on this. If I had purchased an 80% lower a year ago, built it and legally made it a single shot bolt action and then converted it over to semi auto and featureless but now want to make it .22LR am I fine to remove the featureless items on the gun? The lower is serialized to DOJ/ATF standards and it is marked under “Caliber” as a .22LR. I basically want to have all the normal features and shoot .22LR with a 22LR BCG on the existing upper. Thanks.
