Default So, I bought a Browning BL-22 Today....

I found a Browning BL-22 for a good price today ($549), I've been wanting one for years now and I finally decided to treat myself to one. So anyways, I'm in the store doing my background check and what do I see? A beautiful Winchester pump 22 sitting on the counter. Damnit! Now I want one lol.

Anyhow, 10 days to go and I can't wait!

Its amazing how short the lever throw is on those Browning 22 levers. My marlin 39 has a much longer travel with the lever. I've never shot a Win 9422, wonder how that compares between the two.

The short lever throw is one of the major selling points for me. I find that my hands are big enough to where I can just use my bottom 3 fingers to throw the lever and the rest stay on the stock. I've seen a lot of praise about the Winchester 9422 as well. Nutnfancy has a great review of the 9422, and says it's his favorite 22 lever gun.

1 in 30 days is for handguns. You can buy as many long guns as you want.

I have a 22 pump rifle. It's REALLY fun. I don't know if the Winchester you saw was a short barrel or not, but I prefer the short barrel for the light weight. It's easier to hold it and pump the action while keeping sights on target.

I have 10 days until I can pick up my Browning, not planning on the Winchester pump just yet.

I think it was a short barrel, awesome looking rifle.

What??? 10 day wait jail applies to all firearms...

I think you meant the 1 in 30 day rule for new handgun purchases is what does not apply (yet... the clowns in Sac will eventually get around to it applying to everything) for long arm purchases.

Thanks. I had the opportunity to take it out shooting in the desert last week and had a blast. Very accurate rifle. With irons and offhand I was able to shoot minute of clay pigeon at 50 yards no problem.

But that 39A is a much better shooting lever action .22. IMHO

You mean 30 day wait between purchasing new handguns.

I own the Marlin, Browning and Winchester. The Browning is a toggle action rather than a lever hence the much shorter throw. It is very accurate and handy compared to the other two. Bought it NIB for $225...

My dad had one when I was a kid. Very fond memories of that rifle. As for myself, I am also a Browning 22 rifle owner as well, I have the SA22.

I grew up shooting a BL22, most accurate 22 I have ever shot in my 47 years. Great little gun.

They are nice, Buddy has one he inherited from his Uncle.

If you like short throw Lever Guns. You would love my Model 56 Marlin in .22, and Model 62 in .30 Carbine Levermatics. They have a amazingly short throw.. Hand never has to budge at the grip really. Just a little finger flick. They are really dang near about as fast as a semi auto.
