Mount it to a piece of wood board...about 12x24.” This way you can move it around. It will be more than enough strength to finish your build. That is how I have one of my vices.

A sturdy kitchen table. Mount vise on a piece of 3/4" or thicker plywood, clamp to table with clamps. I clamp mine to a steel work desk with these:

A red porch light will announce the vice in your rental. If you need help on how to mount a vise you probably shouldn't be using one.

I had one mounted to a small wooden step stool that worked pretty well

I’d bolt it to a pice of 2x6 the use metal c clamps and clamp it to least nice table you have. Ignore all the snarky remarks. Some guys feel the need to put others down to make themselves feel bette. Friggin sad

i have a large mill vice that is heavy enough you don't have to clamp.^^ 2 x 6 or 8 mount and c clamp to table. I have a palmgren rotary table with xy and if you have a good drill press ca use for light duty milling.

Oh yeah thanks. 2x8 is what I mean. Gives enough surface room to clamp that entire thing down

Back home, my vice is on a workbench in the shed and another one is on a large metal table. I don't have a workbench or a shed where I am at currently and need to get this **** done.

Clamp the upper between the thighs of an Amazonian warrior.

Grips strong and yet will not scratch the finish.

This one looks good too. Mount a small piece of plywood on top. Put your vice and reloading press on it.
