No ammo to be found anyone have any .22lr they can sell for one day worth or range time? Few hundred rounds??
Try Reed's Indoor Range, they rent .22 guns and usually have these in stock.

I'm in my small hometown in Arizona, and went into Walmart just to look around. The Milpitas WM is among the most gun friendly Walmarts in the Bay area. They have zero guns.

My hometown Walmart has 4 or 5 different AR's, including a SIG and a Colt 6920, Bushy, Windham, and 1 or 2 others. They have a bunch of shotguns with breacher standoff devices on the muzzle, and a Remington SPS pre-threaded for a suppressor. And they have a Steyr SSG, lol.

Decided to go out today and buy some ammo to refill my supply. So I thought that I'd share what I found with you all.

This is the ammo case at the Mountain View Walmart as of 11:15am this morning:

I haven't seen that case that full in over a year!

(If you're curious about prices, you can click on the image above and then from my Flickr stream view the large or original size of the photo to zoom in.)

One thing caught my eye though:

Way more than what I had budgeted for today. But even if I did have the money, I probably would have passed on it since it's really pricey @ 63.5Ā¢ / round. But maybe one of you guys will be interested.

After Mountain View, I decided to check out Milpitas. Here's what their case looked like around 11:45am:

(Sorry for the multiple shots but it was the best way I could get close ups and minimize the reflection of the overhead lights).

And for your reference, here's what I paid for the ammo that I bought today from these establishments:

Hope all this helps at least one person out...

Crysknife1013, mucho props on the detailed TRs of the MV and Milly WMs. Can't believe prices have gone up to the levels they have at WM nowadays. Even the 100rd value packs of WWB .40S&W, once you factor in sales tax, aren't the cheapest around anymore.

I went in the opposite direction to the Tracy Walmart today (went to Bass Pro Shop for the first time today!!!!). NO 45 ACP or 9 mm (It was about 6:30 or so on Saturday night (1/4). A bunch of shotgun and other assorted rifle ammo.

Most of the ammo was very expensive. When I started shooting a year and a half ago, 45 ACP was $30/100 (Federal Bulk). Now, it's close to $47/$48 including tax for the Blazer!!!

Ugh.

Those Dillon presses are looking better and better!

Happy shooting and be safe!

MV has Plano 1512 double rifle case for $29.99

same as this
http://www.amazon.com/Plano-Pillared.../dp/B000P3YSLO

Picked up one
not bad for $30 rifle case to lug around the range

That price on the 7.62x51 is actually pretty good. You won't find much better anywhere. Miwall price at the weekend gun show was about 78 cents a round for Winchester white box.

Thanks for the pictures and updates. The reason the cases are so full now is because the prices aren't really outstanding. Still, it's really nice to be able to find ammo for decent prices, and based on Wal-Mart's standard operating procedures, we can expect (or at least hope) that they will start reducing prices soon to reflect the market.

Spoke with an associate in Milpitas and sadly he said that the person currently running sporting isnt too proactive with the firearm and ammo re-stocking and neither is the Store Manager. That really sucks.

I saw that Turkish made 9mm ZQ1 stuff last week at Milpitas and couldn't believe they want $21 a box? I'd give it a try at half that price, maybe. I have yet to spend that much for .45ACP. Glad I've stocked up over the years and bought a lot whenever I found a deal.

ZQ1 1000ct 5.56 cans have been sitting there behind the counter and in the backroom for weeks. I heard it was way overpriced too. Does anyone in this thread have any complaints or praises for the Turkish stuff?

Have not seen WWB 9mm or what it's going for lately. I only make it in to the Milpitas store once or twice a month. I missed out on the 100 round tubs of 9mm & .45 BrassMax. Looked around at a few stores but it was always OOS (Which makes me SOL). I guess it's all a matter of numbers: when the WM computers realize that sales of a certain item have gone down significantly enough they will adjust the price down enough to keep the volume up and to beat out any competitors.

With WM's pricing getting higher and higher, there is much less of an incentive to go on the hunt for ammo there. It's nice if I'm in the neighborhood, but I'd hardly drive down to Milpitas from the East Bay (like I used to) just to score some cheap ammo.

WM is not what it used to be.

What's that site? dillonprecision.com? What can BLUE do for YOU?!?!?! LOL!
