BrokenArrow, what are you using for optics? Right now I'm on iron sights and fiddling around zeroing those in, but would like to eventually get a red dot.

Rob, Nice set up! I'm currently using a Primary Arms Micro red dot sight. It has been great. Used it in the rain and dropped it a few time to test its' zero holding abilities. So far, so good. I'm saving up for a real Aimpoint H-1. |

Thanks for the info, BrokenArrow. I was wondering if you were using the real Aimpoint, but I'll definitely pick up the Primary Arms red dot after hearing results like that, nothing wrong with a decent low cost red dot. Obviously, got to use good ammo too.

I was at a couple of big 5 stores looking at the s&w 15-22. Some had tons of debris stuck on the barrel that was cover in oil. My question is how in the hell could you clean that off if you can't take of the rail?

+1 to being able to take off the rail... Thanks to Dave at Sierra Arms, aka CRTguns, in Modesto!! Dave machined and installed the adapter, installed a Hogue handguard I got used in a trade, threaded the barrel and installed a flash hider. I also added a pic of a Warne R.A.M.P Mount that will not stay on the rifle but wanted to show it off...

Not slipery...The CF tubes really do still have a texture- I wetsand mine down to 400 grit- they are smooth, but still have a lot of friction.

It's very easy once you see how it all fits. Just take a good look at how the existing parts are in there. |

crappy cel pic of my 15-22.
Got my essentials down on it, Eotech 512 and AFG. Many more tacticool parts to come (and with some luck, better pix too )

I prefer to shoot a new firearm with just irons for a while before I even consider optics. I like to know what it performs like in its natural state, plus its nice to know how to operate it with just irons if you optic goes out for whatever reason. I had at least 1500 rounds through mine before I tossed on the optic. Did the same with my AK.

My magazine (10/25 of course) didn't come with the loading assist button/thumb thing...I called Big 5 and he checked out his other mags from the other 15-22 boxes and he said they didn't have them either and that it was a CA compliance issue. Is he just trying to cheat me out of a proper magazine, or is it really missing due to CA compliance? I've never heard of load assist buttons being outlawed. Thank You, it is a beautiful rifle + light as a feather because of the polymer. |

Get to go shooting her tomorrow. I read around and I have the version with blue spring which supposedly fixed all(or most) of the FTE/FTE problems. I cycled a few rounds through it yesterday and she fed and extracted like a champ. |

Just shot her and sighted her. The gun is really accurate with the iron sights. When I got used to it was hitting stuff at 75 yards 4/5 shots.
No jams except for one when the Remington Golden bullets were used. I went through like ten mags of them dirty ammo without a problem though. Federal ran clean with no jams. The Rem. Golden is soooo dirty my fingers were black loading them. The gun was filthy when I cleaned it. |
