It's gotten awfully quiet in here, what's the plan when does voting start for dates?

Just waiting to see when to show up. Vacation time will be scheduled accordingly. I can build another zombie target for the family to enjoy.

Thank you for your kind words and PMs.

Per your communications is evidently the crowd likes the Fall event more than the Spring event ( due to rather demanding unpredictable winds, hot temperatures and what not).

Please allow me a day or so to work this thing out if you would.

If the plan is to have one "Great Fall Event", count me in for that. Let's see what we can do to help uncle "X" with making that an incredible event of at least 3 days of festivities. The pig is on order, just need dates.

Wind sucks in the spring - almanac info for the past 5 years are sustained wins of atleast 10mph and gust up to 45mph. 2013-2018 March/April weekends.

Also not as well attended as Fall.

Official event to fall please!

The fall makes more sense for the anniversary. The spring shoot is always the least attended and can have the dicey weather.

All i ask is a date with no harsh winds.

Not that i matter but last two sszs ive not stayed over night and had my wife bail on me. We like to camp in our tent over the weekend but with the wind she quit on our couples trip to the sszs and I've had to show up saturday morning and leave saturday night before all the drunking fun starts.

So please if possible any dates with lil to no wind?...
Thanks

It's almost impossible to predict so far out. We/I got lucky the first couple of SSZS I attended, the weather was hot or perfect. The ones in recent years have been iffy (weather wise), but still fun.

I've attended one spring shoot where the weather was perfect, and several where it was a wind storm (but nice and warm). I've attended freezing (literally), 90* hot, windy, and 'normal' shoots in the fall.

Driving down from NorCal, I have no option to peel out if the weather get's dicey. If i'm driving down, the time off from work is already requested, supplies ordered, and the road trip commute planned.

Weather predictability favors the fall, but given we pick a weekend so far out (~4-6 months), it's impossible to plan around hurricanes that come up from Mexico or deep freeze atmospheric pressures from Canada that affect the wind.

I normally attend the Apr/Mar meet. I've attend the last 2 November. I bug in November sounds good. Would still like to do a meetup in the Spring. The wind is a small factor. Its usually sunny in april
