I had a downright shameful experience last night. I stayed up for the launch and had to be one of the first people in, i was pretty much spamming the login page with my password copied to the clipboard at 12:59 and got in before the stroke of midnight. created a character, and made it into the game and then realized i should probably safe a few toon names now. logged out, tried to make another toon and then got stuck with everyone else in the endless queue and timeouts. then i later realized that toon names aren't unique and online its only my tag that shows. i was pissed, i probably could have gotten a few hours in before it all came crashing down.

yeah ive been around the block quite a few times in terms of online gaming releases and this is the first one I have any hopes of actually playing @ release

usually i'll give it a week to get sorted out but in this case :
  • "It's Blizzard"
  • Devs are on PST
  • Blizzard devs should have it fixed by my EOD here at the office
  • my wife has already promised me laundry, dinner and then shes watching her novellas == gaming solitude on mumble w/ the bros

lol so here's hoping. Worst case scenario - me and the homeboys play BF3 for a few hours and call it a night - either way a good monday

i wasnt really expecting to be able to play much last night. i knew the login server was going to get pwnd in seconds. but i thought once i got past that, and i was authenticated i would be good to go. not so much.

I didn't play the previous diablos but there was such hype about this one I had to try it. It seems to be a decent game, nothing to write home about.

Do you have to kite a lot as a wiz? run around and avoid enemies or can you kill and control stuff well enough to not need to?

I've only had to kite a little on the bosses. Everything else I just kill. It's a little too easy IMO. I hope it gets tougher when I unlock harder difficulty settings.

I'm sorry but what twisted person thought... Yeah, you know what would be a cool weapon? Throwing jars of poisons spiders!

I'm sorry but this is downright disturbing! Still this game was worth the wait.

Nahh, it's alright. The jar only holds 4 spiders and isn't high capacity.

I got to find out what number behind my username. Just finished Act 1 freaking awesome. Took me almost 6 hours and that's (I think) exploring every area and killing every monster.

Got to wait a few more days for my bud to get it before delving past Act 1.

Anyone play with the witch doctor? He any good?

I've noticed a recurring theme in the game. The hero goes to do a quest, the demons all scream that he'll "never succeed!", then when he does succeed the demons scream "Ok, you succeeded in destroying my (insert quest objective) but I didn't need that anyway! You still won't succeed!"

Kind of funny but still a great game.

Just got the game last night. I'm ticked that there's no offline mode, though. Every time the server goes down, my game goes down and I have to start over at the last checkpoint. Very annoying, especially when the server uptime was pretty anemic.

I must have some miracle network connection straight to blizzard's datacenter because after the first hour of launch, I've had zero issues with this game except one lag spike that almost resulted in a death.

The lack of offline play definitely wasn't something that blizzard hid.
