Any CDCR staff know of any OP's (I've looked in DOM and can't find anything) for free staff with CCW's to chit in when on site or the protocol or if its allowed? I talked to an AW at a valley prison a few years back (he's on calguns too) and he told me to call the watch office and ask them where I should go to chit in, etc. and I did but that's one place.
Or is it like a lot of things with each Facility being different? I travel for work and feel vulnerable when on the road sometimes depending on where I have to go. PM's are fine and preferred to open dicussion. I'm in global and heck you could call me at my desk. ![]()

Well, you must be speaking Greek. I was in LE for 32+ years and don’t have any concept of what you are talking about. How about speaking in plain English instead of some perceived “cop talk” or whatever it is? Just like radio codes, terms are not universal.

you have to tell C.O. at the gate you have your c.c. weapon. .he notifies the main tower where they turn on a bright blue light telling every one someone is bringing a weapon, making sure your windows are up doors lock you drive up to the tower. where you will bench your gun in a locker. (blue light comes off). all agencies must bench their weapons. just call the range Sgt. he should know.

I know that officers from outside agencies visiting a CDC facility need to bench their weapons as well. But, I can't imagine that they would have enough lockers to accommodate all of the peace officers and non-sworn staff on site. Each place is probably different. I benched a weapon at a prison up in NorCal. I declared my weapon to the officer at the gate. He simply directed me to drive up to a certain tower and get buzzed in to a gated area after showing my credentials to the tower officer. There was no blue light warning or whatever. I simply had to sign-in on a log book before securing my weapon in a locker. I agree with the posters who say to ask the armory or range sergeant at your specific facility for direction.

Sorry Ron but this is a CDCR specific question and thus the terms used are understood by CDCR.
