a small brush fire started at Burro about 45 minutes back

Wow, heard steel core bullets could start fires but always thought the likely hood was rare. Bummer.

That thing got big real quick! I hope they don't end up closing the place.

They went down the line checking all our ammo, not sure if they found any steel ammo but there was lots of talk of it.

Heading out to Triple B's see if I can salvage the day.

Only takes one errant round to spark a rock, or an on target round to spark steel. Fires have happened at WEGC too, hence the requirement for full members to have shovels in their vehicle.

Don't think so, the air temp, RH, fuel temp, fuel moisture, wind speed, burning index have to be in a very narrow window for that to happem.

Sucks for the fire and the idiot cheapo, but I'm glad about this thread because I didn't know about Burro Canyon shooting range, I looked it up and it's close.
